Just installed new sound: Kenwood Excelon component speakers doors and dash. Kicker 6.5” speakers in the rear deck. Dropped a Rockford Fosgate Punch 12” sub in a Rockford Fosgate box then powered it all with a Rockford Fosgate 1000 Watt 5 Channel Amplifier, and it ounds amazing - it’s not 2 15s in a Demon, but I can play rock to classical, country to rap and it all sounds absolutely amazing. Or at least amazing enough that my teenagers are jealous 😃. Edit: The speaker wire adapters were spot on - thanks for that advice. Also the install tools - I never used anything like that when I was a “kid” nut they definitely helped.

Love your videos, It's nice to see there is someone willing to admit what he wants & does what it takes to go after it. I also like the effort you put into the videos and explaining what issues you have come across. For instance i am In Ma. and hve been looking to do a lot of the things you have done but i am leary of what the shops around hear are telling me.

Thanks! And that's what happened to me. Every shop I went to felt like they saw a $90k car and raised their prices on me, so when I checked around I found that I was getting marked up 25-30%, so I said screw it, this can't be that hard and have been teaching myself and found a stereo shop that isn't gouging me for equipment too. And honestly it feels pretty damn good to do it myself and I'm saving a ton of money along the way.

I recommend your next mod to be getting some Nitto555r's in the rear. love mine, just be ready to swap them back to stock when the rain hits. they are said to get you sideways above 20mph when wet. Use the same rims if you don't want to pay for the air pressure sensors and their installation in new wheels. with mounting and balance cost me about 1k plus tires. Add $1500 (new car discount) for another pair of stock wheels

On the KW subwoofer, what wiring was there? A red and a black for 12vdc power, then splice into the rear speakers for audio input? How's this work? Needing an upgrade for my Alpine scat pack. Nice n easy.

Need to test these speakers with something a bit more dynamic that can take full advantage of the clarity you upgraded system is capable of. Loved the video. I see that you added sound deadening in the rear deck. Did that eliminate the vibration in the rear deck? I’m currently having that issue in which I feel the rear deck liner is vibrating due to my woofer. But I definitely like your set up.

Ya it helped a lot. And I put some on the inside under the rear deck too and that quieter down the inside. I needed to run a bead of it between the window and the rear deck also to stop it from smacking on the window.

It's weird that Crutchfield said that the Kickers would fit, and they didn't, and says that the Alpine R series won't fit, but they do. I wanted to upgrade from the S to the R but hesitated because they said it wouldn't fit (I have the 2020 GT version, but the sound stage looks the same)

I have a Challenger and had a charger before. I understand the ass speakers in both cars are component speakers; that the door speakers only get a mid bass and bass signal from the amp; is this true, can you hear anything other than mid bass from your door speakers? Is so, did you add a amp and crossover?

No. The car came with a factory 276 watt amp to the factory inside speakers which was fine. Way too much trouble to change that amp since navigation and Bluetooth use the speakers.

I told them I didn’t want adapters but actual speakers that fit right and these Alpines are much higher quality than those Kickers. 👍🔈🔈

@@ocmotivator The correct replacement size I believe is 6 3/4 which are not popular size speakers, i had to use adapt as well for my 6.5's, and your right those Alpines are better quality, but seem's they would of offered to sell you a pair of 15 dollar adapters, instead of new speakers which has adapters, and those kickers arent to shabby

Edward Jones so between us and anyone who reads this comment (lol), they gave me the “youtuber, give us a shoutout” price which was too hard to resist and made the whole set cheaper than those kickers and I wanted the doors to be the same brand as the rear. May change the dash speakers now to match and toss a small Alpine amp to run all of them since they’re higher wattage. If it wasn’t for the youtuber deal I would’ve insisted on adapters probably. 👍👍

I replaced my dash speakers with infinity reference 31/2 speakers with a 93 sensitivity and it sounded worse than factory . They sounded real low compared to factory.I’m going back to stock dash speakers

Because the ohm is going from 2 to 3.2 or 4 depending. Its drawing more power to run them so the volume is less. You need to get an amplifier. The alpine R are $500 a pair. Extremely expensive. Or skip the amp and Go with the jbl gx 6x9 and jbl gx 3x5. They run at 2.3 ohms are will crush your ear drums. This guy is a fool and spent $2000 on garbage.

The problem with that is the 6x9 in the front doors. Have a crossover built in from the factory so you're only going to get mid Bass you're not going to get any hives out of them. You needed more of a component set and change out the front in the dashboard. Coaxials in the door aren't doing you any good.

It has to be your speakers. Others can hear it fine and are commenting that it sounds better. Try head phones since it may be on a left or right channel.

No separate aftermarket amp. My car came with the factory 276 watt amp and that powers those front cabin speakers just fine. To add an amp for those speakers it's a pretty big job since your bluetooth, navigation, etc. all works through that. Audio Control has some amps and adapters to do that but it's a hairy endeavor to do it right from what I've researched.

The only thing you did wrong was place those trunk subs facing away from the back seats. You lose about 30% of the sound like that. You get much better bass when they're facing the back seat of the car.
