Try bleeding the systym do u know the rating of thermostat u put in also check ur fans and clean front ac condenser dirt debree and radiator

I need your help ! 2016 charger My car had months that AC vents would blow vapor “smoke” out from time to time. Never payed much attention until the AC actually started blowing just HOT air . Took it to the AC mechanic and as soon as i park there , the antifreeze (orangeliquid) start leaking from under the car and car started heating up right then & there . I had months smelling “burned oil” as well coming out the hood. So now mechanic says its 2 problems 1. A/C & 2. Leaking antifreeze . We put Freeon , i came home , used it for 2 days then AC is throwing hot air again which means it also spilling FreeOn

Yea u defiantly have 2 diffrent issues. Ac system is diffrent from engine cooling systym use dye in c system to find the leak and coolant systym u can easily see the leak

Thank you so much for replying! Okay so my husband removed the dashboard, he put in a new heater core but it still spilled the Antifreeze so he changed the thermostat and noticed the water pump had like green mold so he put in a new water pump as well. I tested the car and temperature went up to 221 but then back to 210 . Do you think my problem is solved with new thermostat, water pump, coolant converter , and heater core? Because now im afraid to use the car lol

@@RBTheMechanicyes the fans worked correctly always & yes he did bleed it . I tried it out this morning it isnt heating up anymore i just need to add Freeon to check the AC

Take it for spin go regular driving 220 is fine just shouldn’t go more than 230 is tip too max point after that is sure it should always drop back 198 is min

Question i changed my thermostat and arrow is in the middle where it’s supposed to be now the numbers are at 160 of trans.temp but arrow is still in middle? Is this maybe a sensor then?

My 2012 charger SE 3.6 is overheating after replacing thermostat housing and adding coolant. I also burped it a few times throughout the day because it kept overheating to 230. I used my FIXD device which gave me 4 different codes. Two of those were P0117 & P0394. How do I properly diagnose it? * I have no leaks.*

P0394 is cam sensor for bank 2 sensor 2. The p0117 is for coolant temp sensor replace that as well but it could be circuit issue but it’s a start how ever why did u replace the thermostat? Who replaced it? Did u use original thermostat from dealer or aftermarket? Also I see 230 not so bad check to see if ur fans come on and off other wise if they work come on and off u should be good but u do need to replace the sensors

@@RBTheMechanic I had Firestone replace idler pulley, tensioner and hose assembly. 😅 Drove it down the street, next thing I know my dash lit up like a Xmas tree. Took it to autozone where it immediately smoked up. And leaked coolant everywhere. Belt snapped off. Got shredded and wrapped itself around the alternator. Managed to drive it up the street to Firestone. I did the housing myself and the coolant.

@@mabelsparks7171 fan will not always be on they come on and off so u have to run the car let it get nice and hotttt and then park it let the engine run open the hood and keep and eye on the fans

@@RBTheMechanic i drove it less than 15mins on street 204. I sat for 3min with air conditioning running it went up 214 and once I started driving went from 204 to 217. I've replaced thermostat 3times once when I had to get radiator fixed . Then went for sparks n plugs they locked up engine had to replace engine with a used engine with.48000 miles. My original engine had 115000 miles stat was replaced then started over heating again when I got oil changed all fuilds were filled and within 2 days car overheated then leak fixed water pump and stat replaced again. Advice please.

Check ur fans clean out the radiator and condenser fins before anything could be normal tho or thermostat need replacement

@@trapfod6813 oh ok cool 230 is bit high but sounds fair check fan operation as long as it comes on out the ac on that should put some hot heat load if it stays in that range ur good. U can also clean out radiator condenser fins that helps lottt
