I just picked up a new 2023 Wrangler 4-dr Willys with manual locks, windows, and tranny. Last month I went to install an aftermarket skid plate and found out that the dealer removed the OEM transmission skid plate. Apparently, they had a recall for the clutch overheating and the remedy was removing the tranny skid plate! Who would think in the 21st century, there would be a problem with clutches overheating? We also have a Jeep Cherokee with the 2.0 turbo. Unlike NA engines, the owner's manual recommends changing the plugs at 60,000 miles instead of 100,000 miles.

They could have just made fewer V8’s and more V6’s, or even naturally aspirated I6 engines. Anything but turbo 4’s. I have a 3.5 V6 and it’s a pretty decent engine overall. High prices, manual transmissions, EV Challenger. They are trying their damndest to put people in EV’s.

In 2019 I bought my 2019 ram 1500 quad cab 3.6 brand new for $20,500 OTD. That SAME truck on the SAME lot right now... $43,000! When I bought my ram I could've gotten a 2500 hemi for 41-42k! Insane!

The Jeep Wrangler And Gladiola are vehicles with mechanical 4 wheel drive. The entire market has gone to computerized 4 wheel drive. The Jeeps lag behind in the latest integrated systems in thier cars because of their 4 wheel drive mechanical system. Subaru integration of electronic systems imbedded throughout their cars including the transmission. Jeep may want to have greater system integration that is not compatible with classic mechanical 4 wheel drive. Would a Wrangler or Gladiola truly be a Wrangler or Gladiola without classic Mechanical 4wd?

Any Jeep that I own from here on out will be heavily modified. I don't see any really good deals on new happening any time soon. Dunno if auto dealers will do as certain farm equipment dealers have done by sending new overpriced units to auction. The new farm equipment that dealers sent to auction did horribly there also yet they let them go for cheap prices. Wouldn't budge on horrendous prices with customers at dealerships yet lost even greater at auctions.

My mom has been a jeep loyalist for over 30 years and her current Cherokee is the last jeep she says she will ever buy. Reliability issues aplenty, poor service and part support and new units are insanely overpriced. The French and Italians are absolutely driving these brands into the ground. So my so that the descendant of Chrysler's founder has offered to buy the company back. Not a bad idea.....but wait until Stellantis enters bankruptcy and buy Chrysler, Jeep and Ram back for 30 cents on the dollar.

I'd prefer a manual for a Wrangler. Easy to drive manuals today compared to decades ago. I had a '64 Chevy Custom PU - 3 on the tree - clutch pedal was a good 12 inches of play.

These prices are insane. Using a US inflation calculator an entry level car that cost $2900 in 1974 would be in 2024 dollars be $18,500. A well appointed car that may cost $5000 in 1974 would be in 2024, $32,000. If we go to 1984 prices an entry level car in 1984 with be around $7000 and in 2024 dollars be $22,000. A well appointed car may have cost $15,000 in 1984, with inflation that would be $45,000 in 2024 dollars. Let's use 1994 pricing. An entry level car in 1994 may have cost you oh $10,000, that equals $21,000 in 2024 dollars. A well appointed car may have cost you $20,000 in 1994 which would be $42,000 in 2024 dollars. As you can see current new car pricing has just in the last 3 years gone out of whack considering inflation. Yes, a modern entry level car is typically more well appointed than one in 1974-1984-1994, but much of those add ons are technology based and should be cheaper to add. Plus most of these add ons are things most buyers never asked for, nor really wanted but are forced to take when buying a new car... The highest end vehicles today compared with highest end vehicles of 1974-1984-1994 are insideously expensive filled with more add on crap that will cost an arm and a leg to fix off warranty. The auto industry in general and not just the failing Stellantis is losing touch with reality.🤔

Well, your opening statement about not being able to get the 3.6 with the auto in 2025, this might be something you want to double check, I just went to the Jeep "Build it" site and you can get the 3.6 with an 8spd auto, but seems only avail in the Rubicon or Rubicon X models for 2025...

How many people do you think are buying 80K lifted jeeps? I bought mine new in 2014 for 47K including the lift, big wheels and tires, metal bumpers and more already installed at the dealer. 80K is just too much.

He's not trying to be Elon Musk. Why the hell is it so hard to grasp that EVs will eventually be all that you will be able to get??? Again, when it was FCA, they weren't doing a whole hell of a lot in thag sector when Ford and GM were well into it. When Marchionne died, they didn’t know what the hell to do. This is how Stellantis comes to be. We went to Renault because they were working on EVs and Renault wanted no part of CDJR. Now why is that??? Since Renault said pack sand, we went to Peugeot aka PSA Group and the leaders of CDJR/Fiat/Maserati, etc agreed to give PSA controlling interest. They did this shit to themselves. Amazing that Ford and GM both have overpriced vehicles getting recalled and they're doing ok for the time being. It amazes me this merger only happened 3 years ago and nobody knows how or why it even happened. Doesn't surprise me too much though. Even as much as 8 and 9 months after the merger I would tell people I worked for Stellantis and they didn’t even know what Stellantis was.
