That old Dodge is a diamond in the rough and I’m glad you saved him! That is a rare M 880 because it has the NP 435 , 4 speed . Most came out with automatic transmissions . Thanks for the video. American Iron all the way!

You guys have no idea how much army equipment sits, idles, and gets abused. Put it this way this truck was taken care of by a bunch of teenagers for almost two decades. The fact that it's still alive and running is almost a miracle.

I have a M880 and everyone told me that it would be forever reliable. Welp. Motor blew on the first drive, rebuilt it. Then trans went. Rebuilt it, then master cylinder failed, and so on and so forth. Not reliable but they truly are tanks! Love mine

If that truck spent its whole life up north here it would be totally gone. The Texas climate did save it alot, so there's plenty of potential as a property rig.

@@trickyricky12147 I'm not saying that it's a lost cause but I am saying the maintenance that people think goes into government vehicles is hugely overrated. I have had six of these trucks and absolutely love them. It was a comment about surplus military vehicles not one about dodge trucks.

I had one of these about 20 years ago. Put the axles in my '78 W-100 SWB mud race truck with a 400 HP small block. Put the 1/2 ton axles in the M880 with cut fenders, welded-in fender flares and 36" Super Swampers.

When I was growing up as a kid in Rankin TX there was a guy that drove around a truck just like that camper and all. I wonder if it’s the same truck? Super nice truck!

It's a '76 if the grille is correct. The only other year for the M880 is '78 which is a different, one year only, grille.

I really enjoy the channel but most of the time i watch with headphones and when the music intro comes on almost blows ear phones off then have to turn down then can't hear your voice and have to turn back up to hear you wish you could make intro and voice the same would make it much easier for us who listen with headphones
