Def get that vinyl top replaced with a new one after treating any bad metal. Save the patina and get her running with A/C, reseal the transmission. Time Capsule right there. Check to see if it was a "HiPo" with the A/C addition. Don't that car die in a field.

I've just bought a 2nd gen '01 sport,4x4, w/ 5.9,,,,, the tranny has "NEW" fluid, pulls great, looks same, just mine is all "WHITE".......>(great: for the Desert/Southwestern Arizona)........ the dash has already collapsed, there's a plastic cover over it, ? Don't know how long I'll keep it,,, but I'm sort of "GUN SHY" of it............we'll see. It's got 98K miles........

"How did they get anything done in the 90s?" These NA idis were towing 14,000lbs plus all the time, they were indestructible so we jad more time not needing constant repair and codes reset. They would pull hills as fast as modern semis do with 14,000lbs plus behind them. I know you doubt, but a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia will pull a hill at half rated load at 25-35mph depending on hill. The idi with more tham rated load will pull the same 25-35mph on the same hills. With a turbo and replacing that damn squashed downpipe they used to keep it from outpowering the powerstroke, they way out run stock semis on the road. Shame on the axle, I'd much rather have the original brakes and axles. I hauled with both, i much rather ha e the good parking brake and i never had a drum brake fail to provide enough brakes. I dont know why everyone needs discs on the back, semis run drums still, and they are enough on the back. I just happen to be an old school farmer and I know ABS sucks with age, and discs are just not needed on the rears.

New Guy here (Partial Restoration) These Old Rigs are desirable. That motor with a few tweaks is Bulletproof. And a few more mods you can pull 500HP 1000 pounds ft torque!!! I remember them when I was a kid. Especially a 1991 1 Ton Duelly with solid Red super glossy paint. I fell in love and was never able to get one. Closest I got was a 98 Ram half ton 4x4 360 😮🤔😒

I have the exact same truck but the rats made it a rat mansion. It has the 350 4 speed with a compound gear. Going to make it into a scrap trailer or wood trailer. Pulled some good parts. Probably rebuild the 350 and sell the 4 speed.
