Just went through swapping 2 steering gears. Tried a borgenson first and it was good on highway handling, but wouldn't turn my 20x12.5 wheels with 33" tires and it leaked. Swapped that for a PSC brand and way happier. It still struggles to turn while stopped on pavement and It's a much bigger box than stock but not very much harder to install. Is yours able to turn stopped on pavement? I'm wondering if maybe I just got a weak pump.

Yes as far as operation yes no problem there. Mine just has a lot of non tire movement play. as for you yes I believe yours may be a pump issue. Thanks for watching!

Hey Chad, another great video and I have a question for you. I went ahead and ordered the RedHead steering gear, Borgeson high flow pump, Borgeson steering shaft, new Borgeson hoses, and while I was at it I went ahead and ordered a new vacuum pump built by Gould Gear and Electric since they seem to be the best when it comes to these vacuum pumps. I also grabbed the 4th gen steering upgrade to go from 'Y' to 'T' steering simply because it's the way it should have been configured initially. All of these items are currently in route to me here in Ukraine and my question is that with all of these upgraded heavy duty new parts do you think I would also need a steering brace? My truck never had the death wobble issue but certainly had the common slack in the steering wheel which prompted me to go ahead and just rebuild everything with the best I could find. Let me know your thoughts on the steering brace and again really appreciate your videos, I realize I'm lagging behind on when they were released but I'm getting there :)

Yes I would It helps support the end of the steering box shaft especially if your running larger tires.

Seat belt through the steering wheel then buckled to hold it straight. That's what repo guys do.
