The 426 is the real deal hellephant. The C170 comes from that line but it’s definitely not the same. This argument is like BMW guys that swear M340i is a real M… like it’s great, but it’s not an M

The 426 is the original. Then they named 4 others hellaphant engines. Crazy you argue with the people that own the IP lol. They can call whatever they want a hellaphant. Just like BMW list M340 as an M on their website. Such a silly thing to get worked up over like it waters down the other product, lol😂 1000 hp 376ci or 426ci is still 1000hp 😂

@ even if we keep it about Stone Age designs, 1000hp 376 on E85 is not equal to 1000hp 426 on 93. Both with 3L blowers obviously. Bc what happens when you put that 1000hp 426 93 engine on E30-E60 mixtures?? Or full blown E85 with octane booster on top?? I’ll tell you it won’t be 1k 376 vs 1k 426 anymore. It’ll be 1000hp E85 376 V8 vs 1350-1450hp E85 426 V8

@AYO_KO that's all fine and dandy,but the original hellaphant a170 literally only makes 100hp more on e85. The only difference between the is cast block(376) vs. aluminum both make 1000 and probably could make more. Point is its a silly comparison. It's more or less preference... like your M car comparison cause the m340 is setting 1/4 records faster than the M cars lol.

I think the hellephant was a 426 cid like the 2nd generation hemi while the 170 engine is a 6.2, under 400 cubes.

Better to have 376 smaller engine that creates the same 1025 hp over having 426. The reason I say this is because smaller stroke engine builds horsepower faster. Larger stroke benefits more torque availability but takes longer to get top torque and hp.

😂 again. The idea people have when they say Hellephant, is the 426 cubed boosted v8. They didnt put that into a car. They threw the name onto a smaller but overbuilt 376. So the new engine is named as a Hellephant, but isnt what enthusiasts were looking for, and certainly isnt the engine that was challenging for dodge to pass emissions with. This entire argument rests on a technicality that the two parties arguing arent seeing eye to eye on. "The 426 didnt make it into a production car, but A Hellephant did." Is more accurate.

Cleatus put a 426 hellephant in his mini trx took it to glamis and it locked right up after some flogging. Imo as long as the air filtration was intact and it wasn't overheated it should have been fine, there are tons of boosted LS engines being thrashed at glamis and living no problem why did that engine take a big crap and seize up. Does the ECU have protection parameters for temp? I'm just not impressed with all the stories of these hellephant failures. Looks as if dodge twisted the wick up past the reliability level. I get people want the newest bestest coolest rarest flex model but you can take a hellcat and make it 1000hp+ for an entire hellcat less than a 170... And one that will hold the power without grenading. Or just mod one of the older demons. I guess different people have different Priority's, maybe some feel the investment is worth the expense for content. It just seems silly that people fall for the iPhone grift of doing a small improvement to the existing version raise the price and people swarm to buy one. Hellcat,demon, jailbreak, red eye, 170. They're probably saying yup they fell for it again, do they realize they could have acquired this same improvement and probably more for pennies on the dollar with aftermarket parts. Ok now can sell the hemi last on no more give em a year then start selling the same hellcat as before but raise the price again, can you say record profits again lol. They all do it especially ford but GM seems to do it the least, they have base ,SS/z28, ZR1 or base, z06 and ZR1, they dont have a bunch of low number specialty versions. Call me a hater and I'll agree that I'm a hater of corporate greed, people need to get back to good ol hot rodding not just flexing with a hot rodded check book. I think a 800+hp R/T with a built 5.7 or even a 6.4 is cooler than a stock hellcat. But hey that's Just me an who am I... No one that matters, Just another jerk off with a phone.
