The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a great example of how to ruin sales of a popular SUV. Middle-class folks bought these and paid from 30 - 50k for these trucks. Now they start at 45k and go to almost 90k. Returning customers are not going to pay this. Now you see slow sales and lots are full of these SUVs.

TSAP/TNAP cut shifts because the jeeps are not selling - massively overpriced. Dealers are not moving inventory and therefore minimal orders to the assembly plants. WTAP DS Classic was supposed to end at end of 23 MY. They extended it 1 year. The reasons it was killed this year were not known to me but these vehicles were selling because they were ~10 grand cheaper.

Cost is substantially lower in Mexico. The Mexican assembly line workers make $2.60 on average per hour. American workers make $17 on average per hour. That's huge savings for them. An American will cost them $35,360 vs $5408 in Mexico to build a vehicle. Almost 1:7 labor cost difference. ----- Stellantis is not an American company. They can opt to build wherever they want. They can decide to no longer sell in the States. There is no "Big 3" anymore. Big 3 would indicate 3 domestically owned vehicle manufacturers.

I've worked in unions since 2007, and one thing I have learned is that the company will only allow what they want to happen. What i mean is that before they get squeezed by the union, they will move, sell, or close. When the UAW announced the record contracts, I knew there were bad things going to happen in the future. I hope I'm wrong, but time will tell if the new contract is going to keep jobs in the USA.

Stop with feelings idea. Business is Business. The problem is and has been Stellantis management. The US does not ship vehicles to Egypt. Thats not a job loss. Job layoffs are saving the company on the backs of the workers. And the bottom line is... again bad management, with no new products. And stopping discontinuing products before you have a replacement. And please stop crying about the UAW contract. That is not a factor

I 100% believe in the freedom of speech, and you have the right to call Trump whatever you want. Just seems kinda odd that you refer to him as "orange man" any yet you are stating that most of the real problem started when "sleepy Joe" was in office. Again, you have the freedom of speech, but seems to me (my freedom of speech), that you should show a bit more respect to the guy that is trying to bring the jobs back here via tariffs.
@crispyone25643 күн бұрын
I’d bet that all said and done they pay 10x less down there. Every single thing they do down there is super cheap and no regulations. It’s not just labor. My dad did controls programming late 90s/early2000s in Mexico for GM. He said they have entire projects built for the workers and they bus them back and forth to the plants. They build the plants in the poorest areas so they can basically pay them nothing but give them housing.
