Dodgers did it against the top closer in baseball this season, too. THAT is truly impressive! Quiet as kept, they really had no business winning this game as the Mets offense executed their gameplan to near perfection in terms of jumping on Buehler's fastball early and often and pretty much wearing him out by the 5th inning. However, I noticed the Dodger offense was doing the EXACT same thing to Syndergaard on the other end and the tone was basically set for a potential comeback right then and there. Tip my cap to the Mets for giving the Dodgers their best shot in this one, but they're just not in the same class as them when it comes to these late-inning comebacks. I mean, if the Dodgers can make even Edwin Diaz (who's been virtually automatic when it comes to closing out games, mind you) look like just another journeyman reliever like they did in that incredible 9th inning rally then the rest of the league should be VERY worried right now. This year's team is not messing around anymore. On top of that, it's been a long time since I've seen THAT much homegrown Dodger talent on display like I saw in that game. Gotta go back to the good old "Big Blue Wrecking Crew" days (1974-1981) for the closest comp. Absolutely astounding...

@@riversaucedo9979 I wouldn't say the Dodger bullpen is weak as much as it has been inconsistent (and to some extent, even badly mismanaged by Dave Roberts regarding who his late-inning/high-leverage guys truly are and who aren't). Remember, this is the same bullpen that was literally carrying a thin starting rotation earlier this season with Kershaw, Hill, and Buehler still working their way back from minor injuries during spring training. That said, DEFINITELY going bullpen shopping at the trade deadline a couple months from now! This year, the Dodgers have their absolute best AND LAST real shot with this current roster to take it all and the front office better not go dumpster diving like Farhan Zaidi foolishly did last year (main reason why he was kicked out this past winter and is now working for the bottom-dwelling Giants:::snicker:::). Should be something to look forward to, GO DODGERS! ;-)

I was watching the game on MLB.TV in Germany. The game started at 4 in the morning. So at some point I was just too tired and said forget it, we lost this game and finally just fell asleep. When I woke up an hour or so after the game I just wanted to confirm that we’d lost and checked the score. WTF, 9-8 Dodgers? I was immediately awake and instead of going to the highlights like I always do, I watched the complete bottom half of the 9th. What a night. What a win. I felt especially horrible for all the fans who left early. They missed something special. Comebacks of this magnitude just don’t happen a lot, so to have been there that night only to have left early must have been a real bummer. My favorite hit of the inning though, was Turners line drive double to left field. That was a beauty.
