Dodie is too underrated. Just look at this, no crazy set or over dramatic videos or effect, stripped back, simplified in a beautiful way. This is what pure music is, simplistically beautiful, no auto tune because she doesn’t need it. She’s come so far

I love this song so much, yet I feel that I like this version even more than the original if that's possible. The original one feels quieter, like a timid confession, as though she didn't know if she was allowed to be saying such things. This version feels more mature, as though she has already confronted her feelings about it, but there is still that desperation, a hint of longing for the girl she once loved. The girl who, in a way, she still loves.

I can't even... What I love about Dodie is she almost never tries to be loud when singing or use vocal acrobatics like a lot of artists. She's almost always soft spoken when she sings. She's not trying to show off. You can tell by the music she writes, her voice, and her face when singing that she's not really in this for fame or money. She's in it because she's a fan of music. The heartbroken way she looks at the camera... Ugh. I teared up. She's so beautiful, inside and out.

I like the fact that, years later, this song still resonates with the same raw emotion. I went to Dodie's concert last week, and I'm so glad she never got rid of her old songs. She just took them as they were and carved them into something more elaborate, more professional as she grew musically. Yet, the simplicity and authenticity that had touched many of us in all of these songs, and this one in particular, is still there. I think there's actually something even more nostalgic in the new version. I felt really anxious to see "She" had made it to the tracklist for her EP... usually, when artists rework on old songs, it turns bad. But not this time. It's different, but it's a different good. The cello and violin definitely made this song more ethereal... I could rant about "She" for hours, really, but let's just stop on this: Dodie is one of these rare jewels in the musical industry. And I know I'm not the only one to see her like that... I mean, I'd never been to a concert where 100% of the crowd knew and sang along 100% of the lyrics in perfect harmony before :)

this song depicts the state of falling in love - the hesitation, the small butterflies on your stomach everytime you see that person, the warm feeling everytime your skin touches hers, the sparks everytime she intertwines her fingers with yours and the sudden feeling of confusion again as you wonder if she feels the warmth you feel, too, and the last stage, complete realization that you might really just be a person, falling in love with another, waiting for that person to catch you -- just as you catch your own breath the moment she says that she likes you too.
