that is not true, human eyes can reach above 5000 frame but in order to do that are really base on the person been trained or not, it is because we never trained, human then slowly adopt to the current environment. Have you ever wonder when you were a kid, you always felt the time past so slow? That is the proof of we human original are, seeing things in very high frame compare of what now that you grow up felt the day past so quickly. I once experience when I was kid having accident inside a bus, where I was terrified after I realize that it was a real accident not a dream. That accident was that I didn't had any injury because I was able to see what happen in super slow motion, the bus crashed into another bus in the front when on a highway at midnight. Till now I still remember the moment of seeing all windows very dark and every person on the bus slowly move the head towards the front and I also saw the front of the bus glasses slowly cracks, obviously I didn't know what happen but I quickly hold the handle in front of me and block my 4 years old little sister beside me with my hand because she is sleeping and brace then everything went back to normal and everyone fly towards the front. Obviously no death just people injured, my little sister got hit on the head a little bit but she was ok. For me that crash was like 5 mins long to happen but for every else they just felt like 1 sec.

@DirtyPoul6 жыл бұрын
A bit late to the party, but better late than never, I guess. 5:45-6:19 This is false. It's not a bottleneck. The latency from the monitor is additive to your response time. If it takes 100 ms for the enemy to pop up, then it takes you 100 ms + your response time to shoot him. If that latency is halved to 50 ms, then suddenly, the combined latency is 50 ms + your response time. No matter what your level is, you will get a competitive advantage from using faster monitors. The advantage is greater from professionals, since the difference in % is larger than it is for us mere mortals. But we still get a reasonable advantage. Same thing happens going from 60 Hz V-SYNC to 60 Hz uncapped (since V-SYNC means the graphics card waits instead of delivering the newest possible image) and from 60 Hz uncapped to 120 Hz uncapped etc.

Im not console fan because i play on pc anyway (just love mouse for fps games but i like more gamepad for raceing, sim, rpg (matter what rpg) and other games.) i just want to say that consoles are fine and you can enjoy gameplay without these 60 fps in games that dont need fast reaction time. @SaturnusDK7 жыл бұрын
That's probably due to your peripheral vision is able to detect motion up to about 90hz (11-13ms average) while your foveal vision isn't able to process visual information faster than about 55hz (18- 24ms average). That's also the reason why VR headset refresh rates aim at 90hz minimum to avoid motion sickness or other ill effects from prolonged exposure. Although, all new monitors probably do have some slight technological improvements that does make a small perceptible difference such improved motion blur suppression and display latency. Professional gamers and wannabes will probably say they can see a huge difference but it's probably psychosomatic if tested on the same monitor at different refresh rates. they feel like they should see a difference so they do. Do a double blind test. If you can't reliably tell which refresh rate the monitor is set at then you actually can't tell the difference. You should be able to tell at least 75-80% of the time or it's not a strong indicator beyond guessing.

***** In this case, however, they are essentially equivalent. Why? Hertz is the unit for the inverse of time (so s^(-1)). It measures how often something happens per second. If our eyes "see" the world n times a second (so with n Hz) then we perceive a complete image, which may be referred to as frame, n times a second. FPS simply measures frames in Hertz. Therefore we would measure the eye's FPS value.

Hey I have a question, if you turn the Gsync off and you play a game at 60-70 fps, does it then look worse than it would on a 60 hz monitor? I am asking this because i am looking to buy a 144 hz monitor but i am not willing to lay down an extra 200 $ for Gsync, and since a lot of my games run at around 60 fps i am a little worried that they might actually look worse on the 144 hz monitor (because of screen tearing etc...).
@sheodgorath59077 жыл бұрын
ty, i got the same question. the monitor i have a look at is the asus mg278q but i cant run freesinc (nvidia card) so i would just turn it off. But its to expensive to get a shittie picture for nor getting always 120-144fps. another thing i ask myself , sould i realy go for an ips display? i want the colours but i dont know the difference between 1ms-4ms everyone saies something different xD

I have both the Dell S2716DGR and the Alienware AW2518H, both are G-Sync monitors, However the Dell branded panel is 27" 1440p 165hz and the Alienware branded one is 24.5" 1080p 240hz Because the 240hz panel is smaller it is sharper than a 27" 1080p panel, overall I use the AW monitor most for gaming because it actually produces better colors than the 1440p panel Better colors and overall smoothness to me are more important than a marginal increase in pixel density

A Human ping is the latency between you and the server hosting whatever game you're playing. It's measured in milliseconds. You ever noticed that when you're playing a multiplayer game and it starts lagging and your inputs are delayed? That's because you have high ping. In some games it doesn't really matter, but in FPS games like Overwatch, high ping is extremely annoying and because of high ping you die a lot. My problem is weird, because most of the time it will stay at a nice 60 ping. But then, it suddenly jumps to 300-400 ping for a minute, then fall back to 60. I die a lot from this. Hopefully I answered your question.

@coreyalpago32225 жыл бұрын
Another important thing to consider is that not all displays are created equally. You can have two different 1440p / 100hz panels look and perform differently compared to each other despite having the same rates. Same for 60/120/240hz. It’s going to come down to the quality of the panel and how well it can display an image as well as how fast and clear it is. But like you say, the vast majority may only see a marginal difference between a comparison while the few may swing yay or nay either direction.

ExeticGaming oH yeah I know you can get massive high fps in esports but really 120hz is plenty for competitive gaming. The difference between between 120 and 244hz isn't as noticeable as 60hz to 120hz. If you have the cash then why not but you won't get 244fps with AAA games at higher settings.

@forasago5 жыл бұрын
Obviously you can keep improving at a game with sub-optimal hardware, but you're at a consistent disadvantage and you're also bound to develop bad habits to compensate for this disadvantage. Example: Since you're at a disadvantage when it comes to reaction time you will learn to avoid those situations altogether and develop a gimmicky "asymmetrical" play-style like over-using off angles and peeker's advantage in a shooter. You're effectively playing a different game than most of your opponents. This limits you and will be a hard habit to shake once you finally do upgrade.
@certaindeath77765 жыл бұрын
