I would like to read some of the studies being mentioned as supporting this kind of diet. Can you please share a reference. Thank you

A vegan diet may have had plenty of B12 many years ago, before our industrial farming practices, when a bit of nutrient-rich dirt on plants was more likely to get into one's body.
@golaoi15 күн бұрын
Total nonsense. Didn't happen. Wishful thinking.
@marakima15 күн бұрын
@@golaoi B12 is made by bacteria, found in soil, which wild animals consume while eating plants.
@debbiehollis892911 күн бұрын
@@golaoiyes it did, where do you think the animals you eat get B12 from? They used to get it from eating grass etc but the soils are so depleted now that farmed animals have to be supplemented with B12. Vegans get B12 from supplements and soo do meat eaters, but via animals.

What about bivalves? They're good for the environment, high in omega 3, low in fat, don't feel pain, I feel they could be part of your diet now?
@VeganLinked16 күн бұрын
They're not necessary, they pose risk for bacterial infections, viral infections, they bioaccumulate heavy metals, plastics. But yeah they are a least likely sentient animal. Taking a B12 supplement is much safer. And if you balance your diet right you can just get omega-3s from whole plant Foods. And if you don't trust that to be sufficient you can just take an algal supplement.

Dr F, its NOT so rare that people feel better on carnivore, it is because the large quantity of plant based fiber bloats them and hurts their digestive system. I am one of those people. I wish I could eat all plant based but I can't acclimate to that much fiber. I have had digestive problems for many years and I take digestive enzymes with bile to help. And they do help.
@anonimogonzalezperez495118 күн бұрын
hence you are goint to have a tradeoff, less longevity for less digestive problems. Data is clear. Even cordain states a average of 60-65 years of lifespan for high meat tribes.

precisely cordain in his book states that paleo tribes lifespan is about 60-65 years, while there are certain excepcions as kitavans (other famous paleo paradox), who lives 80 years. Guess the respective diets.

I'm all for everyone eating the way their body responds best, but there are many ways to be "plant based" and if it's on vegan processed foods, you're not going to have good results. I have had amazing results and way more energy and better labs.

The diet with the shortest life expectancy is vegan/vegetarian, the 2nd worst diet with the 2nd lowest life expectancy is keto/carnivore, and the diet with the longest life expectancy is balanced omnivore. @@julienfroidevaux1143 None of the 500 people listed in this study were vegans or vegetarians since they already died. "The present paper examines the relationship of nutritional status to further life expectancy and health status in the Japanese elderly based on 3 epidemiological studies. 1. Nutrient intakes in 94 Japanese centenarians investigated between 1972 and 1973 showed a higher proportion of animal protein to total proteins than in contemporary average Japanese. 2. High intakes of milk and fats and oils had favorable effects on 10-year (1976-1986) survivorship in 422 urban residents aged 69-71. The survivors revealed a longitudinal increase in intakes of animal foods such as eggs, milk, fish and meat over the 10 years." Okinawa centenarians had 50% of fats and proteins from animal foods on 1000 calorie diet with a BMI of 22 and healthy elderly 70-90's had 1700 calorie a day in the early 1970's before fast food got to Okinawa.
