Big mom was confirmed to be coming in this arc when the giants talked about her so Oda not forgotten her cannot really call Luffy the pirate king if he not beat her as well in fishman island luffy said he would beat her that still not happened also big mom only got knocked off the island into the lava kidd and law did not actually beat her just trapped her down there to end the fight.

I personally think BM should be at elbaf, especially bm since her mother carmal/Giants story hasn’t been wrapped up. Bm also has logical ways to survive wano. She could use soul pocus on kaido unconscious body, and heal herself up then create a lava hoomie to fly out. This could also be how kaido pays his debt, for bm savings his life by giving him his df at god valley. Big news Morgan confirmed bm crew destroyed cp0 around wano coast so they most likely picked her up. She could either gets a redemption arc after finding out the truth about mother Carmel, or she dies at elbaf giving Kat the captain title to lead the crew. That could lead to luffy/Kat making a alliance to fight BB so luffy could save garp and kat saves pudding.

I think both Kaido and Big Mom survived. People forget that they were in Magma chamber which later erupted. I think they both got thrown out of volcano and Big Mom's pirates ship saved them. We will see them this arc probably.

29:22 if Kaido is still alive, what purpose will he have after his fall? at elast for Big Mum she literally announced right before Kid shot her down that she will return and now that we're in Elbaph I think it makes sense for her to return at some point of this arc. It also very likely that we will learn more about Big Mum in this arc. However Kaido, like what he is supposed to do now? the only thing I can imagine is when Jack finds Kaido in the ocean and somehow Kaido survived, they could potentially attempt to resque Kind and Queen from Impel down. What will happen after that makes even less sense. I think Kaido served his role here similar to Madara, he was the peak opponent to Luffy but his role is done now.

I personally think he’s gonna be one to sacrifice himself for Yamato against maybe a God Knight as a way of redeeming him slightly, getting a mom flashback and also forcing Yamato to kind of confront that they aren’t Oden . yes they ARE kaido’s kid, but that doesn’t mean they ARE kaido. Running away from Kaido doesn’t change they are his kid and neither does pretending to be Oden. Yamato needs to come to terms that they are their OWN individual and who THEY are.

The objective take with raceswapping, specifically in the context of art is that art is art. Both should be okay or neither should be okay. However the major concern in this conversation is that a vast majority of "blackwashing" is done out of admiration/homage for the art piece and not racism, especially when considering the concept of representation. On the other hand, almost if not all whitewashing is done out of spite for a characters darker skin tone and often comes with "i fixed this character" slapped on it. From making Nessa (pokemon) into an ape to the Ryan Gosling black panther to people editing black MCs (clock strikers, apple black, etc.) as white as a "statement" when its solely disrespectful. This also completely ignores the historical context of black people in anime and media in general where lack of representation has led to caricatures of black people in anime/media all while adopting things that are generally associated with black culture (hip hop, clothing styles, slang, etc.). And thats not to say those shouldnt be allowed, but to argue that black people are being disrespectful or racist for creating fanart while official media is either utilizing black culture or creating disrespectful caricatures is very tone deaf.

Slam Dunk was one of the first real instances of respectful black representation in anime.

In the frame of "representation" many of these characters were created in a time where black characters were not profitable to the masses and thus there existence was thinly veiled. Ex. Hermoine from Harry Potter was intended to be black being a curly haired mudblood, but was casted as white in the movie and thus white in all future iterations. However this is not just true for black people, but many races in media before the last decade (Prince of Persia, Lone Ranger, Othello, The Face of Fu Manchu, Wanted comic, etc.) If the casting makes sense for the character it shouldnt matter, what should matter is the racist remarks that follow, across the spectrum, white, black, or asian).

I have not watched the video yet, but with the title, I wanted to respond to the question before hearing your thoughts. Yes, Big Mom is coming out of the lava, because I am certain that Prometheus, Napoleon, and Hera sacrificed themselves to protect her until someone could extract her. The fact that she was knocked out of the fight right before Luffy went to gear 5 was very fortuitious. Remember that Mother Carmel was almost definitely a (Fake) priestess of Sun God Nika, and undoubedly, she was preaching that faith to both the Giants and the Children. As much as Linlin loved Carmel, she almost certainly took it to heart, as Wholecake thematically had a lot from the Nika faith, although she seemed to miss the most important point about freedom, probably because Carmel wasn't emphasizing it. When Big Mom sees Luffy take gear 5 in front of her, it will shatter her to her core, because if you go back and pay attention to Wholecake, faith is VERY important to her. Leave or Life actually was ritually held in churches. It will DAWN on her that she has been trying to kill the living incarnation of the God she has worshipped her entire life. Plot twist, Linlin will drop to her knees and beg Luffy's forgiveness. Furthermore, what remains of the Big Mom pirates will fight alongside the Straw Hat Grand Fleet in the upcoming war. There, now I am going to fix myself some dinner and listen to what you guys think.

For me I don't see why BM needs to be back.If it's to learn the truth about Mother Carmel, it won't change or bring anything + the giants can explain it to us. BM's era is over and she has no place in the new one, she lost her Yonko title + It's more interesting to see Katakuri leading the crew as the new captain. BM doesn't deserve redemption, she's done too many horrible things to have one and redemption has its limits.
