As the oldest child I remember being beaten to a near pulp for anything my younger siblings did wrong by my Birth Father & Step Mother. Their logic was the only reason they were misbehaving was. Because *I* clear wasn't setting a good enough example for them. Of course they (especially my sister) would then misbehave even more on purpose. Because they thought it was funny to hear me screaming every time. I got lashed across my back with my Birth Father's belt. Now I'm an adult I have washed my hands with the lot of them. & have as little to do with them as possible. I don't contact them & maybe see them once every two to three years. If I'm forced to because of extended family get togethers. They asked me why I don't speak or have anything to do with them & I told them why. & you know what they can't understand why I dislike them. They think I'm just over reacting & that I need to forget about it because its no big deal. Sorry but the scars on my back & my lost childhood are something that I'll *never* be able to forget.

I am the youngest child and find this video relatable, but because of my age gap with my siblings, I have sort of experienced all the different roles. Like taking care of my older sisters and metally maturing faster to "catch up" with them, on the flip side I like to be well rounded with extracurriculars, academics and being social. I was the little sister in that sort of situation. I used to be a bit jealous of my big brother. But today I know we've both got our strengths and weaknesses, just in different areas. He has his strengths, let him know that. Heck, more than likely he's even better than you at more than a few things. Let him help you in that case. And he's gotta get in the good habit of trying all the new things that interest him, stuff you haven't even thought of doing maybe, and make his own identity. I was tired of people knowing me as "his sister" and always comparing me to my brother so trying out different classes and clubs, making myself more different from him helped (and was a ton of fun as I found new hobbies and such that stuck). As I got to know myself and built myself I began to really like who I really was inside and was growing into. I accepted my shortcomings but also still wanted to improve myself, but for myself this time, not to be better than someone else. It's not about living up to someone, but about living up to yourself. But it takes time to realize these things. I believe you can help him help himself. This is by my experience though, so take it as you may… To you and your families, the best of luck. :>

I'm the middle child and here's my take. my older brother is responsible, helpful and loved the most my my mom. My younger brother is the most lovable to people we meet and also is confident. I as the middle child am very analytical of others. I received the least love and show the least love back. But if I ever express my emotions, they have the most impact and people respect me the most or atleast appear like they do. I also without a single doubt have the most tolerance for anything. I don't haveuch confidence but I push myself to far greater heights than my siblings because I'm competitive. I am the only one whose chosen to persue my larger than life dream.
