if someone has been in many short term relationships that can mean a few things: -they are the asshole. -they are a poor judge of character (to end up in relationships with assholes again and again) -they are smart enough to see the writing on the wall and part on good terms (or bail out of a toxic relationship) before they become dependant on it. -they are not interested in going long term and they know it.

Jeez, getting together with someone who is horrible at judging people sounds so freaking exhausting. Even worse when they get extremely defensive about it. Just imagine trying to explain to them how this person they befriended is a weirdo in more ways than one, and potentially being called a manipulative asshole for trying to help them.

Smart enough to see the writing on the wall? Don’t think that most people who’ve never been in long term would be able to do that

@@kennethxu1789It takes a maximum of 3 months to get to know someone well enough to know whether or not they are hiding a significant part of themselves they don’t want you to know about. So you really can’t know for sure if a relationship is going to work until you’ve been together for a couple months. I don’t think it’s all that crazy.

@@kennethxu1789 it is real I have done that two times. Shortly after we started dating I have seen a lot of lies. Before we had similar political, social views but two months in, the dude becomes highly religious and anty lgbtq. Like you don’t change your views to completely opposite ones, in a month. There were also more lies. Sadly, you will never know if you are lied to until somebody will slip up. And how do you continue a relationship like that, when somebody lied so much from the start ?

Let me add more: - They don't feel ready to commit - They are simply not meant to be because of differences - Misunderstandings - Circumstances that might affect their relationship And honestly, I dated twice in my life. One was a bad one, he was a player and I even found out from my friend that he was flirting with her and so, we break up and never spoke again. One was a good time. We were very different from each other and the spark doesn't glow anymore. It just fades. I consider it a good time because I can never forget the times where we started off as friends and they had a crush on me and we begin hitting it off. My last relationship for 4 months.

I'm mid 20's and never been in a relationship at all. I just never had the chance to, that isn't something to be concerned about. Being in multiple relationships pretty quickly, or have a high body count (that weren't in relationships) is the concerning bits.

As someone who's 30 and hasn't been in a long term relationship, I appreciate you guys for understanding it's a nuanced topic. I think most girls in the dating market, if not all, would say it's a red flag. Me personally, i think it's a yellow flag.
@alixnight5318
@alixnight5318 Жыл бұрын
For the right person, it doesn’t matter. When I met my bf, he was 30 and hadn’t been in a relationship with anyone before. It wasn’t a red flag for me because I saw that he exhibited a lot of positive traits such as being extremely self aware, strong communication skills, and being incredibly empathetic. Few women want to teach a man the basics about how they want to be treated in a relationship. If you’re mature and have your shit together, it’s not as much of a red flag

My argument against that Connor said si that it's equally likely that it's a person who's a shit judge of character. I think we've all known at least one person who would constantly make friends or get partners that are terrible, but they can't see all of the obvious red flags.

OP - it's much better than to surrender under the pressure to do it with anybody just for the sake of doing it. I can definitely say A LOT OF MEN (myself included, almost 29 years old and never in any relationship, because I literally despise hookups, and intimacy should be only with someone you love, otherwise it is just worse and more risky version of masturbation) would value women like you highly, like a "wife material". Actually, it's sad men like me can't meet any woman like you, to the point we joke that winning a lottery is more probable.

To Connor’s comments about hating someone who wouldn’t bother playing from the get go because they know they’ll lose, more than sore losers, legitimately how is that even fair for them? Like they know they are a sore loser, so for them to choose to not want to engage because they know they’ll bring the vibe down if they do, isn’t that them recognizing their issues and choosing to not bring the problem by putting themselves in that position? I just think it’s a little unfair to hate on a sore loser even more, for choosing to not to put themselves in that position from the beginning.

Dating as a whole is unhealthy and should be avoided. Most people nowadays date for fun (mostly for intercourse) without any serious commitment which is why most people that date break up so fast. They are simply not serious enough to have a serious relationship plus you don't even have any legal right over your partner as a so called "boyfriend/girlfriend), like if she/he had an accident, you can't even go in because you don't even have a legal right simply because boyfriend/girlfriend is a silly nonserious relationship with no real contract. That's why marriage is the only correct answer.

You know you can't magically know if someone is right for you, which is why people date. If being in a relationship doesn't work out, then getting married to them wouldn't work either. Some people don't want serious relationships, but many people do, so communication is important to figure that out. And you shouldn't want things to be serious right away, as you should both see if you're compatible together, which takes time
