That’s why I did it! Speed Academy did a good video on it with their “Mullet Mustang” but they used a bunch of intakes I’d never heard of.

These aftermarket open element filters are more for looks and sound than anything else. They get crazy hot at idle and should be dynoed with hood down to get more accurate readings. Can't beat the stock engineered air cleaning system.

Bought one in Holland last weekend. A black 2009 one. Love this video series. Mine seems stock, has a cold air intake that isnt stock as far as i can see. But i do get engine code p0171 and p0174 bank 2 running lean.

You need to rev it out to 7k. Lito says thats safe. I track my car and run it out to 6900 all the time. Also..new to your channel..live the content!!! Im getting ready to do cams on my 3v. Whats your idke sound like with the 127500 cams?

Yeah that’s what I’ve heard! I need to talk to Brenspeed and see what they say. And check out my cam review video, it has good video of the idle. They are rowdy, exactly how I wanted them to sound.

@@ProjectBullitt you should be able to raise the limit yourself on your x4. Lito who is a very well known tuner just told me 7k is safe..because im talking to him about cams. He said the 127500s were the waybto go. Looks like you got some massive gains man

Yeah I’m very pleased with them! The car feels faster everywhere. And I appreciate the info.. I am definitely going to look into the rev limit

@@ProjectBullitt also...look into lito tuning. Hes the 3v jedi master of tuning. He lives eats and sleeps 3v. Manual pazo is his name on fb. Look him up

@@hechtspeed yup. Surprised the hell out of my friend in his 2015 GT. Used to talk mad smack till we lined them up. Yes he beat me but only but only 1 car at 75mph and that was before LTH and X-pipe. Lito is the man! Just got everything to go E85.

I have an '08 DHG Bullitt. BBK shorty headers, doing the same 127500 cams and JLT series 3 intake. I think the reason the JLT didn't make any more power than the Ford Racing is because the air from both intakes has to go through the same size throttle body. I'm upgrading mine to the 62mm throttle body at the same time as everything else.

Well both tests were done with that 62mm TB. (Which looks great). LITO is considered the best remote tuner for 3v’s among the forums, and he made a comment saying the Ford racing intake was the best you can get.

@@ProjectBullitt I didn't notice the 62mm throttle body in your description/build list. 🤦‍♂️ thats my bad. My build is similar to yours. 127500 cams and all accompanying components for the valve train, all new timing components, throttle body, JLT CAI, BBK shortys, lightened steel flywheel, McLeod Super Street Pro clutch, and dyno tuned. My car put down 349whp and 341wlbft-tq. I'm very happy with my setup. Can you tell any difference with the underdrive pulleys?

Not sure since I added them at the same time as the cams, but mechanically they must have a positive impact on performance. Sounds like you have a great set up.

@@ProjectBullitt my tuner tuned mine for power instead of sound. So you don't get the lope or chop from the cams that much, but man does it pull nonstop now! It's an absolute blast to drive! You have any new videos coming? I've been patiently waiting for more updates. 😁

The Ford racing is bigger than the OEM gt intake and requires a recalibrate for the GT so it's a upgrade from the base GT one....that's why you don't get much more from the jlt3

I'd like to see your numbers on an E85 tune. Gen1 injectors and dw300 and tune. Getting ready to head down that path myself

I’ve looked into that, and hear it’s good for about 10rwhp N/A. I may make the switch if I ever build the engine and boost!

Doesn’t JLT recommend a tune with their CAI, especially with the much larger tube? I thought the Ford Racing intake was built by Steeda?

Both intakes require separate tunes due to different widths of the tube where the Mass Air Flow sensor is located (and 2 different tunes were used). Steeda Partnered with Ford to make the cold air intake system for I believe the Shelby GT’s. The 08 Bullitt’s CAI system was designed and manufactured solely by Ford.

@@ProjectBullitt yep you’re right. It was for the Shelby GT that Steeda partnered with Ford, or rather Ford or Shelby together since Shelby is the one that puts on the Ford Racing CAI. Seems odd there would be a different FR CAI for a Shelby than a Bullitt. I picked up a 2008 Shelby recently and aside from some minor dressing mods, it’s all stock. I’m torn between leaving it so beautifully stock or pulling more HP out of it, one being a larger CAI, delete plates and an better exhaust. Seems almost sacrilegious, just like it was when I was Bullitt hunting (till my wife said how much she disliked the green 🥲) I like what you’ve done with this though, it gets my stamp of approval whatever that’s worth 👍🏻😁 W

I appreciate that! If you want my $0.02, I recommend long tubes headers and some sort of cam along with a good tune. That Steeda CAI probably flows just as good anything else so I wouldn’t waste the money.

The jlt would shine if you had some ported heads. Would benefit from from the larger maf housing in the jlt. But cool setup👍

I was wondering about that actually, you may be right. The thing is the choke point on these 3v’s is the exhaust, and I think that’s why I didn’t see much of a change. But I think I would boost before I ported the heads.

@@ProjectBullitt Ya boost is fun! I did the porting on the heads myself and it took a long time! Especially to do it right. But ya nice setup again man. Mine is somewhat similar besides i did high compression pistons and all that. Ill post some new vids here in a couple weeks. Did a few more lil things, previous i was at 417whp on e85.
