@@TroyPereira1RO sure but current locals don't look good and are objectively more dangerous because of open doors, I myself recently broke a handle in a fast local. Luckily I was in the middle, I can only imagine what would happen if I was on the edges.

Ac locals are must and two years ago we saw rapid increase in their no.s on bith central and western line. But now everything is going chill. No more trains ordered nor plans deady for order. Hope this changes after the election.

Mumbai metropolitan region needs to be bunched up in the form of Mumbai Nashik Pune triangle. Best bet is RRTS that runs at semi high speed. Around 200 kmph. They should also create straight routes with viaducts and tunnels in kasara and karjat ghats to facilitate such a fast train speed. If Mumbai metropolitan region swallows up Pune and Nashik, it will be a powerhouse of Indian economy.

Bullet train will/should be built towards Pune (at least) as it is the IT hub, EV hub, Automotive hub etc. Especially since Navi Mumbai has become the data centre hub!

Fully ac locals are not utilised fully Better option would be to have first 3 coaches of all 12coach (or 6 coaches of all 15coach) trains be converted to AC. If the need increases, then more coaches can be converted into ac at later stage. Thisn is best solution for affordability and comfort Those who can pay can pay for ac , rest can opt for non ac This will mean optimum usage of entire train and track slot as currently many cannot afford the high ac tickets so trains go under utilised and next train has to carry double no of passengers.

Lucknow SCR region me Vande Metro sabse jada succesful hogi Because jaha sabhi badhe cities pe local trains ka network hai wahi Lucknow region me COVID ke baad se local trains band ho chuki h aur sirf 3 train chalti h as MEMU. Jis region me pahele subah shaam har aadhe se ek ghante me local train chalti thi aur dopahar me bhi 1 se dedh ghante me ek memu hoti thi usi region me ab sirf 3 train up aud 3 down me chal rhi h.

#AskPT Currently cost of single journey from Virar to Churchgate in AC local is around 115₹ whereas General Non-Ac is 15₹. Do you think the prices are affordable for a normal Daily wage person who might be getting 500-600 per day, if Railways is planning to turn all locals to AC

Happy to hear about the replacement of mumbai locals with vande metro seems they would be safer and conveniont but at the same time what about the crowd in mumbai, as people nowadays have no option they have to suffer in the crowd and have to lean in running trains... At last mumbai railways should also first look forward towards the timings and delays in of the locals finishing up the existings running project and after that should think bout replacements...

Well bhai i have a doubt why indian railways don't completely get rid of old local trains in mumbai . And run only AC locals . They looks like metro only. And it would be better to use it in India's richest city . And yes i know people are gonna tell about how non ac locals are cheaper options . Then why not keep the price of ac local in between the current price of ac local and non ac local and run only ac local .

There are still people in Mumbai earning under 10-15k per month trying to feed their families. We have to consider those people too. And government cant run every AC trains below AC prices - Current AC local prices are barely turning profits and non-ac locals are already loss making, bringing it down will be disastrous. Also India's 'richest city' has all its wealth concentrated on a few handful of people who don't usually take the trains.

@@mongoose1618 You can't hold the people's aspirations down just because 2-3% people are too incompetent to be able to earn enough money. It's unfair to the rest of the majority. And that "concentrated" wealth is still taxed, so the municipal corp is still collecting insane amounts of tax money. It's the richest municipal corp of the richest city in the country. It should start looking like a rich city as well now.

Dont know about vande metro. But we certainly need such a system that what issue the weather creates during rains does not trouble commuters at all. A small glimps was seen on 13th may in mumbai. It was horrible. Agree there was dust storm but that was barrely not for much long. But our system was totally devastated. Upon that these railways do a big shit work by cancelling AC local when such rains or bad weather strikes mumbai. This escalates the issue even more.

Vande metro is not meant for suburban operations at least for a busy system like Mumbai. Vande metro is for regional, Regional express type services wherein trains run anywhere between 100-300 km. IR has put a limit of 250 km.

vande metro looks basically repackaged mumbai ac local. good for the brand of 'vande bharat' (has potential to grow like how shinkansen is the brand for Japanese trains), but ir's incremental not transformational. without dedicated tracks, Vande Bharat trains provide no gains at all.

Vande Metro have the efficiency to connect Kolkata and Howrah with various satellite cities of West Bengal such as Bankura, Asansol, Durgapur, Burdwan, Murshidabad, Krishnanagar, Katwa, Bolpur, Jhargram, Medinipur, Digha, Haldia etc. And it can be a game changer in our West Bengal. But there have several problems doing this here. First of all, the biggest obstacle here is the lack of tracks. Secondly, neither SER nor ER can run passenger trains on time. Three, there is the issue of people's income. And fourth, there are some stubborn intellectuals who will block everything.

At least they make something. I am born and raised in Mumbai and I still remember during UPA regime Mumbai had those brown/beige DECADES OLD BRITISH TRAINS in use. The newer purple/grey India made trains were introduced in Mumbai after 2014 due to Modi's initiatives ONLY. Man people just keep bitching. FK. Let them make Vande and Bharat out of everything. Idgf as long as they AT LEAST DO SOMETHING.

Bhai, saari cheezein to theek hai, par Naming me thodi creativity lekar aani chahiye BJP government ko. Vande ke alawe bhi aur doosre deshbhakti words se naye naye trains ko introduce karna chahiye jisse ki differentiation clear rahe aur naming convention me creativity bhi dikhali pade. 😇✌🏻✌🏻

Vande Bharat set was meant to be replace Shatabdi and sleeper version was meant to replace Rajdhani Rajdhani and Shatabdi will be still using loco hauled design And this vande metro will be used in place of demu and memu not emu
