When they rebound you can assume they are hurting and filling the void. I’ve experienced both where most exes come back from rebound but the quiet and the ones that remain single tend to never return.

I never did the whole begging/pleading/gesture thing... straight after the break up.. I searched on youtube what to do after a break up, found you and several other coaches. And went straight into no contact... currently its been around 2 months, and he messages me about something every 2 weeks... something usually objective.. kinda direct indirect but not leading to much talk after apart from one time.. but.. no contact is working.. even though its small.. he comes around every two weeks with an objective but relevant excuse to message me. My emotions have also calmed and I dont get the anxiety anymore, and I dont cry as much at all.. in fact its been a couple of days since I cried and thats a big deal cos it was at least once a day, sometimes three times a day. And I've started getting along with my life.

One of my exes did same, contacting me every month or two after break up asking how life s going and then leaving my answers with no reply. After 6 or so month I asked why he msg me and ignore that’s weird. He ignored again. After 1 year he msged me on my Bd and was asking for apologies and wanted to be friends. I wasn’t interested romantically so I said ok. Every time since that when he contacted me he was apologizing and saying how sorry he feels and that he wanted to contact me but every time he felt like he doesn’t deserve it. @@aguy4401 I've been single about 9 months now. Been doing okay, maybe a bit much substance (ab)use, keeping somewhat in shape and spent this summer fixing the fasade of the house. The last breakup didn't hit me too hard, it was destined. My self confidence were already low and I couldn't, and still can't, find peace and quiet. My thoughts drift to my first love at times, it makes me feel down but I make use of every time it happens to remember myself that it is a closed chapter in my life and I need to keep on going. Also when a door closes another one opens. This is totally true. Right before Christmas this cute girl I have met through work reached out to me and we've been chatting ever since. She has told me that she's got feelings for me, but I'm feeling a bit numb and having a hard time to relax and go with the flow. I'm feeling like a hopeless young, awkward and shy teenager again. I hope she shows me patience and can make me feel safe.

I think I’m going to invest in the workbook series. I’ve watched a ton of videos and this is by far the best channel I’ve come across about break ups. I probably wouldn’t have made some of the mistakes I made had I found this channel earlier 😅 but I’m in therapy, surrounding myself with loving energy with friends and family, and exploring hobbies I left dormant. I used to work on myself and study love languages and relationships for years before my relationship (my first ever). I fell of during the relationship but I’m excited to work on that again and be a better lover for whoever is next.

It depends. Long time ago I was in a 5yr relationship. I was not happy for a host of things that Craig mentioned. When I broke up with her after a 1.5yrs I missed her quickly and asked to get back together but when we broke up for the last time 3yrs later I did not miss her at all, we never got in touch apart a couple of times to sort some beurochratic things but actually I felt a huge relief and even when a few months later was told by a mutual friend that she was with someone else I felt absolutely nothing.

My ex and I worked together, but in different departments. We began to talk to each other when her hours changed. She had to clock in at my computer because I was the first person to get to work and had a key to get in the building. Over time, we talked more and more. Until one day, she mentioned her birthday was coming up. I asked if she was going to celebrate and she said no. I asked her out for her birthday and she said yes. We were together 4 months. The breakup was a shock to me. She was coming over to watch a movie at my place and as soon as she walked in the door, she sat on the opposite couch of me and began breaking up with me. She began to cry saying it wasn't my fault and that she doesn't want to break my heart. From that point on, work went from pleasant to dreadful. Somehow, it looked like we were working things out and went on one more date about six weeks after the first breakup. But it quickly fell apart. I'm anxious. She's avoidant. We both began to act childish. I did all the wrong things including a hand written letter. I almost quit my job because I felt she was antagonizing me. Around the same time, little did I know, she put in for a transfer to another location within the company a couple miles down the road. Her last day was my first day of no contact. And I contemplated seeing a therapist. I decided not too. On day 38 of no contact, she shows up at work ten minutes before I leave. I see her, but she doesn't see me. She was there for work related reasons in another department, but she began hanging out too close to my work area for my comfort. I began to get anxious. I was stressing. My hands were shaking. I didn't say anything to her. When I left, I blew up her phone with calls and voicemails. I also began venting on Facebook. She couldn't see my posts, but we each had a common friend and the friend took a screenshot of everything I posted. I pretty much deserved to have that happen for putting it all on Facebook. I've lost my self respect and hate I let her affect me this way. Now I'm irritable, work stresses me out, little things set me off. I don't like being in my house because that's where the breakup happened. I finally set up an appointment with a therapist. My appointment is Tuesday.

Similar problems I was anxious, she was avoidant. I did the letter like an idiot. I'm on 35 days NC and could careless at this point; I've moved on with my life. A lot of these women do not love themselves but we cant lose ourselves either. I'm very happy with my life just going to be single for awhile and live life like God intended. And yeah, dude I would get off social media for awhile. I've been off it way before we even broke up but its not going to help being on it.

I have the same story as Craig! Me and my ex had a great relationship but after a year, she sniffed something in the air, which I had never raised with her and she said ' I can't see myself being married to you've. I was like wtf? I haven't even raised it. I did give up a good job for her because I didn't want to move away. She freaked when I did that. Avoidant. 6 mths no contact...she is very sad she hurt me, that I know. Just working on myself now. Miss her terribly.

We did reconnect 2 mths after breakup. She said to me at break up 'When your ready reach out. I'll give you space and let you come to me'. It was like she set the terms for reconnect toon? I didn't know what I know now. I should of said no. When we did we felt kindhearted and tender with each other but we didn't kiss or be romantic. It’s been nearly two months for me, one thing I keep reminding myself is ‘break up is not permanent ‘ and ‘time is on our side ‘ If the relationship was good. And we were good to them in a decent amount of time, there’s no way they will forget. I still remember my crush from 4 years ago time to time. Even if I don’t feel like I still in love with him. I’ll be happy to talk to him again. But that was a crush, who I spent 3 months with. So how can my ex, who is my first love (and i am his first girlfriend) will forget me? After everything we have been through. Even if he got bored. But my love for him is real. And we had 90% of a good time in our relationship.

I'm simply writing this in hopes of some much needed advice, because I'm so confused right now. My girlfriend and I dated for 8 months and dumped me 2 weeks ago (I was completely blindsided by this). She initially told me she fell out of love, but then after going over everything in my head I realized it's because I took her for granted and didn't give enough of my time to her. I apologized for each individual mistake, and said I can fix it and asked for a second chance. I was told "no, I don't have those feeling for you anymore I'm sorry". She still wants to be friends but I cannot do that, I love her too much to be around as a buddy when she finds someone new. I accepted the break up and told her we can't be friends and went into NC. She reached out and I answered in a way where I didn't show emotion and I didn't ask for forgiveness or mention the relationship. Few days of talking on and off, and we met up about 3 times since the break up. Everytime we met up, she'd cry and said she missed me, and she'd kiss me (not in a friendly way, but in what seemed to be a very passionate kiss). I tried to avoid kissing but the chemistry is so strong it's imposible for me to reject a kiss. So basically I'm in a postition where when were together it seems like we're dating, but she says she isn't in love with me, so we're not. She also made a tinder immediately after our break up and I know she still has it as of today which is the last time I saw her. I haven't reached out once to her, she's done all the reaching, when we met up today it was her who asked me out, and like I said we kissed again today, except today seemed to be the most passionate kiss since. All of this said, she says she isn't in love with me, and she intermittently brought up little jabs about how I messed up the relationship while we met today. Basically all I want is some guidance to my situation. Because to me, deep down, she's in love with me and wants me back. However, she says the exact opposite. So her mouth says one thing and her body says something completely different. I just need some advice because I have no idea how to handle these mixed signals. Thanks, hope to be hearing from you.

Jeez man I feel your pain. Please just stay in no contact, not for any other reason brother but for yourself. Not to make her miss you, not to get her back. Just focus on and improve yourself and eventually one of two things will happen, she'll see the new you and you'll win her over, or even better, you will attract someone better who appreciates you for you! The struggle is real, it's tough, it hurts like crazy, u feel clouded and sad and angry and anxious and depressed all in one, u get funny thoughts running through your mind, it hurts like HELL!! But all of this is normal, and it's a long road ahead, but just do you and I PROMISE YOU that it'll be ok, I promise you, no matter how much that seems like a fantasy right now, it will be ok!! 👊

Focusing in yourself also means learning about how you are attracted to people and why, your attachment style and your childhood and gaining an understanding. Go learn about yourself! @@aliciarocavalenciano8560 I had those too, unfortunately he broke up with me for a second time this Spring after being together the second go around for 6 months, I believe boyfriends are allowed to know how you feel (emotionally...when stated eloquently), and if he can't deal with it then I'd say it's better to be single than to be with a guy who can't/won't validate your feelings. (It took me over a year to figure that deal out.)

My girlfriend left me last month, after 12 years, for another, and i did all the mistakes, and last week i went NC, but we have a 11 yo boy, and i had to Pick him up today so i have to have some contact, but anyway, she told me that she had told her new boyfriend, not to be present at pickups and deliveries with the kid, and that he have to Call and ask if he Can drop by, and strangely she also said that she still cares about me, but i acted very cool and composed, and just nodded a little, and when the kid said goodbye to her, she afterwards gave me a hug, and wished me a good week. I Said thank you and wished her the same, but i cant Shake off the thought that she was testing me, to see if i would fall back to my neediness, but i didnt. sma1616 Is he in your life at all or are you in complete no contact? Complete nc is the best way. Hopefully you don’t work together and don’t run in the same social circles- put all physical reminders away. No social media. No songs that remind you of him. Make him dead to you. Literally, pretend he died. It makes it easier to grieve and then let go.

Don't lose hope, but that doesn't mean you should unhealthily obsess over reuniting with him! Work on yourself! Stop counting the days of no contact, it's torture! Live your best life, surround yourself with work, new activities, family, friends and put him away into the back of your mind! Amazing things will happen then!! just wait n see... It's difficult, it's not easy. The pain is real! But use that to motivate yourself to stop feeling that way, and to find the person you were before u even met him! Force a smile, force some joy for now if u have to, and I promise u the hurt will slowly flow out of u! Do YOU!

So my ex keeps contacting me every four or five days because I am doing no contact. She is in a new relationship, which started just a week after we split, though I did think we had split up!, but I guess its a rebound relationship. anyway she contacts me just a day after she has returned from a holiday with the new man, and again just this Friday gone, just asking how I am and if my day has been good. I have replied to both after a delay, but the convo goes no where its just chit chat, she says its just friends now and she wants to keep in touch as good frineds would. Abril Garcia I was in a long distance relationship and she broke up with me before Christmas last year. I’ve begged for a week and stuff before finding these videos. What I’ve learned from Craig is to keep no contact and don’t reach out. Only reach out when they do but for the time being, best to just work on yourself. In your case tho, best to go through the sadness first and allow yourself to go through the process. Once you have some strength later, spend time to improve on yourself. I recommend Craig’s books or communication videos. I am really really sorry you are going through this and I completely understand what you are going through. The first week was hell being not able to sleep, eat or be motivated to do anything but plead. Now I’ve been in no contact for 3 months+. I hope you do hear from your ex and your situation improves. Stay strong and hang in there :)
