Because of Lamar's lack of playoff success. He has 2 playoff wins in 6 seasons. Burrow (5-2) and Allen (5-5) have 5. If Lamar beats Pat, and he goes on to the superbowl, win or lose, he'd leapfrog Allen and Burrow for QB2 of the NFL. Only Mahomes has a surefire place as QB1, everyone else (including Hurts and I hate to say it, even Dak) are closer in rankings than one might think

Right now Lamar is second to Mahomes. No questions. Lamar also plays in a much tougher division than Mahomes. Hands down. The raiders are bad, the Broncos are bad, and Chargers are bad. Lamar is about to have 2 MVP's one unanimous(only him and Brady share that accomplishment) to Patrick's 2 MVP's. Josh Allen has 1 2nd team all pro and 2 prowbowls. Joe Burrow has one probowl Josh Allen 2019 lost the wild card, 2020 lost the AFC championship, lost divison rd in 2021,22, and 23. His claim to fame is losing a AFC championship. Joe Burrow has only made the playoffs 2 of his 4 years in the NFL. His 1st year 2020 year he went 2-7-1. 2023 he went 5-5 before getting hurt. The chiefs have better cornerbacks, a healthier secondary, and Chris Jones is the best defensive player on either team. The ravens just have better linebackers and Kyle Hamilton, who’s playing hurt. Mahomes has the better tight end, better running back, better number one receiver, and better offensive line. He also has Andy Reid calling plays. The chiefs are the healthier more talented roster. Y’all perception is skewed by the fact that this is the closest their rosters have ever been. Compare their teams ppg this year. Lamar’s averaged about seven ppg more despite being injured and slightly less talented. Y’all have never appreciated fully how great Lamar has made those terrible teams and offensive schemes look. Here's what I'll say regarding the rivalry: this is the best team Lamar has ever had and the worst team Mahomes has ever had, and they find each other duking it out to see who's going to Vegas in two weeks. In terms of regular season accolades, they're pretty similar to each other, save that Mahomes has been healthier and had a full (MVP) season before Lamar had played an NFL snap. Lamar needs it more. In his eyes he's trying to catch Pat. Think about if Lamar hadn't been hurt the 2 previous seasons and how good the Ravens were with him before he got hurt. Thats 2 potential championships gone through injury. I hope Lamar wins for his sake and becomes a winner. Think when Brady was winning his, he had Manning, Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees to contend with. Mahomes has had Brady, who he lost to twice, and then a few "could be" superstars. Burrow, Lamar and Allen but 2 those been hurt and missed the post season. So there are a lot of ifs and maybes. But if Mahomes wants to be considered the Goat he needs proper superbowl winning competition. Otherwise we can say yeah he won loads but who did he face?
