Since Shady wants to talk stats, this (regular) season, Lamar and Pat both started 16 games. Lamar has 4,499 total yards, 29 total TDs, and 13 TOs. Mahomes has 4,572 total yards, 27 total TDs, and 15 total TOs. That's a whopping 73 more yards for Pat, and 2 more TDs and 2 fewer turnovers for Lamar. Seems pretty dead even to me. For their (again, regular season) careers, Mahomes (96 games/starts) has Lamar (86 games/77 starts) beat in total YPG 316.3 to 245.8. Mahomes' win% is ~10 points higher than Lamar's (77% to 67% respectively). Mahomes' completion % (66.5%), yards/att. (7.9), and passer rating (103.5) are all better than Lamar's numbers (64.5 comp%, 7.5 y/a, and 98.0 passer rating), but not by much. Lamar does have more than twice as many rushing yards (5,258 to 1,936), rushing TDs (29 to 12), and a higher rushing y/a (6.0 to 5.2) than Mahomes with ~500 more rushing attempts for Lamar. So, yes, Mahomes is definitely the better QB. He has two rings, two SBMVPs, more playoff success, etc. and has the edge in most statistical categories as well. But to say that there's nobody else even in the conversation (or close to it) for best QB in the NFL is delusional at best. Especially if Lamar wins his 2nd MVP (which seems likely) and wins the SB (which the Ravens have a good shot at doing if they get there), then the margins separating the two become even tighter. For this generation of QBs, Patrick Mahomes is akin to Tom Brady. But his Manning hasn't really emerged yet. A lot of people say that it would be Josh Allen since the Bills and Chiefs have so much recent playoff history, which is fair. But for my money, the Manning to Mahomes' Brady is Lamar, another generationally talented QB (albeit not in the same areas as Mahomes) with an extremely talented team and coach behind him who is finally poised to stake his claim to a championship this year, and for the next few years after too. Note: All stats pulled from pro football reference. Edit: Corrected Lamar's TO total for this season.

I think the point JJ and Acho are making if Lamar does win one this year, even with going to 6 straight AFC title games. Pat would only have one more superbowl than Lamar and thats really it. Pats stats will look better, look who he played with to start his career. Lamars number will be special as well cause the total offensive numbers he brings. So can the gap really be that big. You also have to consider the fact that for 4/6 of those years Pat had a all time top 10 wide receiver, arguably the best pass catching tight end of all time, and the best offensive mind in the league with Andy Reid. Lamar did not have that type of luxury and really couldn't even open up his full arsenal until this season and now look how he has performed. If with all that Lamar ends up only being 1 Superbowl away how can the gap be that massive?? There's still a gap for sure but it's definitely not disrespectful to have that conversation. A Superbowl win here separates Lamar from the Burrows and Allens and puts him just a tier below Mahomes, and I think people need to start looking at the new and improved Ravens as if they could potentially now go on a run for a few years and win a couple titles, now that Lamar has a team around him. Bro was a unanimous MVP, like you said I think people are taking how hard THAT is to do for granted, in a league where there was Tom Brady and Pat Mahomes playing. What often doesn't get talked about in these debates/discourses is the any given Sunday aspect of the game. Sure the Ravens on paper should be able to give KC the smoke, but what if the defense don't show up? Or what if KC's defense plays out of its mind and shuts down the RBs on Baltimore, forcing Lamar to have to throw 40+ times and he comes through, but Mahomes has another GW drive? I think what Shady was saying was that Pat has shown more consistency in his career (granted Lamar has been more injured) but talent aside, the best ability is availability and Lamar hasn’t been that available. Not saying Mahomes isn’t great but we also don’t know what he’d be like without Andy. And maybe Andy got lucky with him too in a way cuz he couldn’t win with the solid squads he had in Philly 🤦🏾‍♂️. But Lamar is a great QB as well. Same with a lot of QBs. Id put burrow in the same category as Lamar. Great but injury prone.

An interesting observation when it comes to Pat Mahomes' rushing ability, if some can prove/disprove this that would be great, but I think Pat might be the greatest 3rd and 15+ yard rushing qb of all time. His rushing is so under rated. Lamar and Josh are more athletic rushing qbs, but you really can't sleep on Mahomes rushing ability.
