Does Sport Mode Actually Make Your Vehicle Faster?

Testing acceleration of my 2024 Ford Maverick Lariat Hybrid in Sport Mode, Normal Mode, and Eco mode with a GPS tracking device to determine once and for all if Sport Mode is indeed faster or if it just feels faster!

My Geo Metro has a sport button that is also the AC off/on and it definitely works.

I would say sport mode in the Hybrid Mav is just more responsive and peppy. Where as in normal mode you have to push the go pedal more to get the engine involved. Eco mode even more than normal when driving around in local traffic conditions. Flooring it from a stop I can see there being no difference between the modes.
