There are plenty of educated Black folks that are not Stephen A Smith or Bakari Sellers. Follow and read Dr. CBS, Bree Newsome, Orisanmi Burton, Black Power Media, Jacquie Luqmon...some attention needs to go there instead of people that keep leading us back to the dead end Democrats. Roland Martin said to get Joe Biden in and hold him accountable. Well Jim Crow Gencide Joe is showing that he is not going to listen. Roland blew off suggestion of Anti Black crime bill but I wonder what he says to all these new a.s. bills. Black folks got Warnoff and Ossoff in and all we got were excuses about Manchin and Sinema. They play in our face and will keep moving the goal post but show how quickly they can get things done that don't benefit you, or will likely harm Black people. But you're right Smith needs to take a stand by sticking to his well founded critiques of Biden and Democrats instead of cowering to the fascist liberal mob.

We need to separate teachers from blue-collar jobs when we speak of them .No hate for blue-collar folksince I am one, But we need to elevate the profession in the hearts and minds of members of our community, every community and one way to do that is with our language. We need to recognize their training commitment and sacrifice. We intrust our most precious assets to them. I don't mind it necessarily being the Breakfast Club because of the demographic that they serve and the wide reach they have with their platform. These are voting age people, who for the most part actually need to be engaged. Many of them aren't watching MSM or any substantive political commentary. However, if they are, maybe not consistently and they need to be informed and prepared to vote for their present and future. The issue I definitely have is that Charlemagne and Envy really should NOT conduct interviews of this magnitude. They don't have the bandwidth or knowledge by any stretch of the imagination and this causes confusion and misinformation. Instead, they could easily hire someone who can handle the task and elevate the conversation to educate, empower and strategize. It is not only what is in your hands - but how do you use it to enhance and elevate the energy and power you possess for the greater good. Refrain from using the opportunity for temporary controversy and/or click bait - we have zero time for that!

Yes a mark is being missed. There needs to be larger conversations in the Black communities focused around civic engagement and how your participation gives you a voice in the allocation of your tax dollars (economics) and how your voice can impact laws that will affect your life (liberty). These conversations need to be more reflective of the independent and collective benefit. We need to have conversations about hope and what it can look like and how we’re going to get there. We’re hyper aware of the threats and have managed in spite of so that no longer motivates. Folk need to know they can thrive and not just survive and that can come by way of civic engagement which goes beyond voting.

Lots of pushback about Sellers' comments re CTG, but he isn't wrong though; Stephen A Smith and Charlemagne aren't in the same category. They may both be wrong about many things, including some of the same things, but they (the men) do not move the same. Whether or not the impact is the same... I'm not sure. As goofy as Charlemagne comes off at times, I have never seen him go onto a right-wing platform and go to bat for Donald Trump or any other Republican/conservative politician. Stephen A Smith was truly a "useful idiot" in that Hannity interview.

@@markparham OK I'm a try again mark because KZbin took my first comment down. I did survive the 94 crime bill because I didn't sell or use drugs, And I grew up in The Bronx. You see that whole Joe Biden put black men in jail crap is not true. The 94 crime bill was meant to punish people who sold and used crack, I didn't. And I'm pretty sure you didn't either even though if you are a BlackTrump supporter There might be some brain damage. It's amazing that you think the man who denied black people residency in his buildings, who took out full page ADS calling for the execution of 5 black and brown youths, And thinks we identify with him because he's a criminal is an option, then there must be brain damage🤪

Interesting conversation, I would like to also point out that, there maybe day to day issues, but those will not matter if you cannot vote as a minority. Look at how many states have taken away the rights of women regarding their bodies and health. How is that not a day to day matter. It does not mean that you discount those issues that the youth have, but they all are relevant and equally need to be protected.

It was Clyburn (SC) who pushed Biden. Unfortunately, of the initial 50-11 Dem candidates that were running for 2020, I don’t recall anyone standing out other than Bernie Sanders.

You are correct. Also Bennie Thompson too. They both were Gung ho for Biden. He must of offered them some position they wanted in his administration. He screwed them both after they got him the Black vote in the southern states.

Stephan A Smith represents what happens when people want to talk about things they know nothing about. Smith is a sports journalist. He knows sports. Outside of that, what credentials does Smith have? Why should anyone be listening to him on anything outside of sports? There's anti-intellectualism and there's talking to the wrong intellectuals. Or talking to people who are not intellectuals

Good Tuesday morning to everyone. A big thumbs up with a certain degree of caution. On the subject, no argument and that's why I call Stephen A. Smith "Stephen A. Slick." He's very slick and duplicitous in his rhetoric and who he talks to. As well who he talks about. Bakari Sellers, joined in the round table attacks on Nina Turner on CNN back during the Michigan primary had better understand people haven't forgotten that. I most definitely have not. So he should also take a look in the mirror or a refresher on that March Tuesday night he got real pompas with his attacks on Turner and check his Black Intellectualism ego at the door.

I've been tuning in to the Breakfast Club every morning for the past 10 years. I listen to it for entertainment, not for news. As a listener I think it's time for them to hire better producers to help them better prepare these interviews. I also enjoy the interviews where they invite subject matter experts to be co-hosts on days when they interview politicians; I find these discussions much more engaging as a listener.
