Thanks for the review! And for covering all the types of blinking meanings ) At 5:40 of the video you describe the process of pairing of the receiver and transmitter, and you say that there is a pairing button on the TX, and by saying that you save my day! I didn't know there is such a button on the TX ( because actually it is the same button with rode logo, which turns on the device, but it must be pressed once shortly, instead of holding). It has been a while since I bought my wireless go, but it didn't come paired out of the box. And I couldn't find the way to pair the device. After watching this vid I started looking for that pairing button) And I found ! And my device is paired now! Hooray! I feel a bit stupid though))) Thanks a lot!

Your channel is SO awesome and your reviews are very helpful :) Thanks for making them, I've been using the Rode Wireless Go and love it. I got rid of my old walkie talkie sized setup lol now I'm not scared to use the wireless setup. You are absolutely correct, I gave up my range with the smaller setup but was well worth it! I love it because I don't have to play with cables. It's WiFi connection so I'm certain range is limited although I never need range in my shots. Maybe 20 feet away or so it most.

I just bought this yesterday at a local Best Buy. Did some quick tests and the results all came out fine so far. The built in mic on the transmitter picked up my voice clearly from 30 feet away inside my home. The decibal settings at low, medium and high all work well. I also attached an external MovoXVR700 shotgun mic to the transmitter and this too worked well and audio quality was excellent to my ears. The transmitter worked great in sending its wireless audio directly to my Canon 90D DSLR via the receiver. Obviously only time will tell if this can hold up to "professional abuse". I would not use this for a long wedding day, only for run and gun stuff and self vlogging.

The fatal flaw in the system for me is the mic input connector. So far I have had two units fail, as in the internal mic becomes disconnected and you have no choice but to use an external mic. The first unit was dead on arrival, and the replacement unit died within 24 hours. This makes the system very unreliable for any pro use, and Rode themselves in many interviews and their own advertising do keep saying this is a professional system. I have been in broadcasting for more than 30 years, and have for the last 15 years used Sennheiser G2 and G3 systems for wireless mics, to be honest I always prefer cables when possible, but I have never had a Sennheiser's mic input fail, in fact even the cheapest cell phones I have owned don't have that problem, so to have two units fail in the same way does make we rethink my choice of the Rode Wireless Go. I bought them to do in front of camera interviews, so the distance isn't really a problem, the intention was to mostly use the internal mic on them, and only use a lav mic when you can't hide the Rode. I have contacted Rode and they say they are sending a replacement unit that they have tested, out to me, but with all the reviews about this system I see only two videos that mention this as a problem, and you really have to look to find them. When you do you see a lot of people with this internal mic failure issue. I suspect Rode have had a production problem as all of the review versions must be from a different batch. My advice, if you plan to use the internal mic, never plug anything into the mic socket.

@@LunaScopeJustin Hey, thanks for your response. Just watched your update and congrats for reaching 500+ subs. I suspected the distance related cutouts were due to a faulty unit (as other reviews performed better). My main concern is that others have been experiencing mic disconnection issues due to build quality. I have seen a KZbinr locate the issue by opening up the unit, but until Rode themselves assure us that they have addressed this, I cannot see myself purchasing this product.

Perhaps it's asking a lot to have 40yds of distance from a system that costs what this does and who it's targeted for though. 40 yards is 120 feet. That's QUITE a lot. What a great channel man. So cool right from the first video, too. If I may, your opening speech is very kind and interesting, but the type of music always feels odd and detracts from what you're saying... because of its generic quality, it makes your word feel less authentic and special, because you use the music to try and make me feel something. @@LunaScopeJustin I use two sets of these for weddings. Love them and can easily say I get at least 50 feet without any issue. I think you may have just a bad unit honestly. I will agree though with not having locking threads AND not having a lock button to prevent talent from turning off the transmitter sucks. But the button to turn it off is flush against raised plastic, so I think the thought was that it would be difficult to accidentally turn it off, especially with requiring 3 seconds.

I gotta disagree with you there. I guarantee professionals will 100% use this system. Fair enough, it may not be used in feature films but it will be used in the corporate, social media, journalistic film industry. Probably some documentary work too. People are always saying, “Is this a professional product?” If it’s used in a professional capacity it is a professional mic. No consumer would notice the slight drop in audio quality during a run and gun interview. Use the tool you have to tell the story as best you can. Don’t be saying this isn’t a professional mic because professionals (like me) will use it.
