I never needed an overdrive with the ADA MP1. I balanced the 2 Overdrive's within. I think the power amp thing is really cool.

The secret weapon on the Rat is the Filter knob. If you're finding it too brash and brittle roll it round to the right and it essentially acts as a LP filter. Funny you flick between the TS-type boost and the Rat, as that's exactly what I'm experimenting with at the moment. The TS is a smooth, dark honk-fest compared to the Rat, which is a wide-open juice machine.

What I tell all my friends but they don't yet get it. Most places are now silent stages so they all went kemper or helix. I kept my pedal board and tried a few cab sims pedals, I was not happy but it got the job done, but I always felt there was a missing element, power amp sim. Then came Two notes with the 1st gen cab, I was back to happiness on non-amp stages. Then comes the CABM WOW. The tone consistency everywhere I plug into is so refreshing. No more fights with the sound guy, 95% of the time.

The rat is an underrated boost. It adds a percussive chunk to the front of notes unlike any other boost I’ve ever tried. Just keep the distortion way down.

The Logic Reverb and Delay were an even bigger REVELATION! You're right about the Cab M EQ. It's a bit too basic. Apart from that, and the mono aspect, you made it sound amazing with that setup.

@@rockostiffredi4276 I have a very Basix AMT S-Drive right before the CAB and the S-Drive Tone knob just doesn't cut it, so I put a Boss GE-7 between that and the CAB and it opened up a whole range of tonal possibilities.

I had the ADA MP2 in the early 1990's and it was pretty awesome. I purchased it after hearing Gary Hoey on the local San Diego rock station WKGB with the Dave Shelly and Chainsaw show (DSC). I remember the ADA MP2 had this "Auto-Wah" preset that you can play along with Gary Hoey's "Low Rider". Then there was a CRUNCH preset that you can pretty much have the same sound as Metallica's "And Justice for all" album. Now that I am living in Massachusetts, I bumped into Gary Hoey at the Lynn Theater for one of his shows, and found out he now lives in New Hampshire! Small world! I might buy another ADA MP2 if I start playing more, such an easy & fun TUBE preamp processor.

I use the Two Notes Torpedo Captor 8 with my EVH 5150III EL34 50 and Mesa Nomad100. At rehearsal I use my ADA MP-1 preamp. I use a stereo pair of Two Notes Torpedo Cab M plus IR boxes and MosValve to drive stereo cabs. The amps I use the Two Notes Torpedo Captor 8 Output dry to stereo fx section of my pedal board. When I use the ADA MP-1 I send the out of my ISP Decimator X Micro G (ADA MP-1 in the loop) to stereo fx. Using a stereo pair of Two Notes Torpedo Cab M plus IR DI are awesome.

That ADA will run direct into a cab with no power amp also. Uses the onboard headphone amp to power the cab at 1 watt. I also do the same with my Engl E530, works great for home use without the neighbors calling the cops on you.

Try a Roland SDE - 1000 into an ADA MP-1 with a cab simulator and you will be in 80's Nirvana ( crank input / attn - on SDE for some secret sauce....)

I saw an interview with Nuno where he sad that he always used RAT-trough his entire career.Nevertheless,that clicky atack(which is most evident on 'Pornograffiti'solos)and vivid higher mids are the signs that RAT almost certainly was in the signal chain with the MP-1.That is only my opinion,of course.

Close to both nuno and Vito's tone. I think I like vito's tone a little better though . Smoother a little warmer. Mostly talking about lead tone. Nuno was a little more trebly and thinner on leads i thought. Great video bro I love this channel.

My goodness you´ve made me regret selling my ADA mp1...I´m going to cry over my Triaxis!! Yep man, I use Torpedo WoS and the Power amp of the plugin was a revelation to me. IMHO the best solution for a bedroom players that don´t want to use modelers is get a preamp and combined with IRs into a DAW. (there´re many out there very cheap, Marshall, ADA, Studio Preamp, Carvin...).

You might try increasing the filter a bit. Experimenting with increasing the gain on the Rat, and decreasing the gain on the MP-1 might also be helpful. Bass increases as you raise the gain.

The software controls the CabM internals. There IS a TwoNotes Wall of Sound plugin that you can use as a VST if needed. VERY similar software, but not 100% identical.

Nuno uses a Rat pedal to boost his amps

He only uses the Rat when he is using a Marshall amp. His Randall amp gain stage is actually modeled after the Rat so he doesn’t use them for his signature amp.

But you could take the preamp (slave) output off a 100 watt head, put it into this thing without a load connected?...with a cabinet connected, wouldn't the sound just got through the cabinet? I'm missing something I'm sure.

Right now the closest would be a Friedman BE synergy preamp. The MP-1 is kinda similar to the BE, but the MP-1 is a little more 2 dimensions and the Friedman is more 3D and rich. But they're in the ballpark sorta.

The CabM is really a cab simulator. The MP-1 is a preamp. The cabM also will do some power amp simulation, and has a simple amp simulator in it, but they're really to support the preamps or pedals that your run through it.

It goes from the HEAD - CabM - Cab So the cab sim comes off of the line TO the cab. But signal still goes to the speaker cabinet.
