Seemingly most noticeable with the traditional tele, and particularly at high gain, some mid resonances came with the real cab not there with the Torpedo. The best solution might be to record via Torpedo, avoiding stray mic pickup, while still driving a real cab for those resonances.

Great demo, Shawn! Question- if using a tube amp head and cab: I run the head into the " Amp In" and use the "Speaker Out" to the speaker cab. Can I add reverb to a head that does not have reverb, with this set up? Or is reverb only available with the headphone/line out?
@adrianknox83015 жыл бұрын
Great demo Shawn! Could you run a pedalboard in front (overdrives, delay, etc.) and go direct into a pa and get a good sound? Playing in church.
@garyclements69465 жыл бұрын
I can answer that. Yes. Two-Notes focuses on that. I don't have my Cab M yet, but built my board in preparation for the Cab M. My chain is as follows: Fender Level Set Buffer > Tuner (not in chain - buffer has out put just for tuner) > Compressor > Tube Screamer > 1st Noise Reduction > Soul Food > Fulltone Drive 3 > 2nd Noise Reduction > Two-Notes Le Clean > 1st Delay > 2nd Delay > Reverb > Cab M > PA. Currently, until the Cab M is added, after reverb I go out to an EQ Pedal then into a basic DI Box that has 1 standard Cab Sim then out to PA. As soon as the Cab M hits the board, the EQ pedal & basic DI will go away & I'll EQ everything in the Cab M. So, yes, the Cab M is specifically made to do away with the need for an Amp. The Cab M matched with any of the Le Preamps is a match made in heaven. 😊

Great tone Shawn. In regards to recording tone (without considering attenuation/load box ...), if you had to chose between the Torpedo vs the UA OX what would be your choice?
@ShawnTubbs5 жыл бұрын
I guess it would depend on your needs. The true comparison would be the Torpedo Studio and the UA. I have a Torpedo studio and I use it with preamps because it has line inputs and power amp simulation, but I lean on the UA OX when I want to plug an amp head into it. They're both really good products.

Thanks a lot for your response Shawn. Basically looking for the unit that delivers the "best/most realistic" miced cab tone for recording at my home studio when plugging an amp to it. I checked your video about the OX and you got a great tone from it. Also having both the Torpedo and the OX, do you still feel the need to record from a miced real cab? Is there anything that you still miss in these units in regards to how realistic they sound?

Depends on the pedal. The REVV G4 serves well as a preamp. With the MG you would probably need some sort of preamp.
@HowardBobson4 жыл бұрын
My big question on this is, in order to use the amp function you need an amp "out" and a speaker "in". So this would likely be heads and cabs right? For combo amps there isn't always a clear amp "out" and speaker "in" so you wouldn't be able to use the pure amp function right?
