One other great thing about the MT-09 that makes it good for daily commuting is the traction control, rider modes and ABS which work really well if you get caught in the rain. Switching rider mode to "B" and setting traction control on "2" makes the bike handle really well in wet conditions. ❗❗❗ Let me know in the comments what ya'll are riding for your daily! Thanks! ❓❓❓

Can a Yamaha r3 be a good daily commuter bike for a noob and for long rides?
@julietechosierra
@julietechosierra 4 жыл бұрын
LEC illuforce Personally I think the R3 makes a great beginner bike. It’s got enough power to have fun with but can be very forgiving. As far as long rides...I guess that depends on how far your going. The R3 is pretty comfortable because it has you sitting more upright than a bigger sport bike. But for me after about 3 hours on the R3 that’s when it starts to become uncomfortable/tiring. But if your just communing an hour or less to and from work/school it would work pretty well for that.

I have a 2018 MT09 SP and I totaly agree with you. I have a 42km daily commuting ride: city belt, highway, narrow city roads and the bike is great for them. Strong points: engine with hp and torque, the way it looks, good price, good suspension and even brakes, modern bike, rider position, 1gas liter per 17km Not strong ppints: rear tyre has short life because traction control and quick shifter, sport exhaust means full sistem and it is expensive and sounds just load. Finally, it is a great bike for everyday ride.

So I had a 2013 R6 it was my first ever owned motorcycle that I sometimes commute to work with, about 46 miles to and from but sold it not too long after since I usually do street riding in caribbean climate and bad roads. I got a 2018 mt09 and the amount of torque you get compared to a 600cc sport bike is insane. It's so much more comfortable and the wind isn't bad once you're going around 60mph. I did however get a Puig touring screen to battle the wind for weekend spirited rides and might get a comfort seat in the future since the stock one gives me some butt soreness after a few hours.

I decided to get a bike as a daily driver on dec 2018 (been riding since age 15, so no problem there), and got a 2019 MT-07, great daily driver. Decided to upgrade to 2019 MT-09 2 months ago, let me tell you... no complaints at all. I had my doubts at first, but after tweaking the suspension to my weight, this thing rides however you want it... relaxed, hard, racing style, cruising, doesn't matter and it looks so good. Gas mileage is not bad also.... Only thing I will do, is either redo the seat or get the OEM Comfort seat.

My experience commuting with an MT09, 40 miles round trip, is its an excellent commuter except for the fact that tire wear combined with poor fuel efficiency means it’s no less expensive than driving a reasonably fuel efficient car. It’s waaaay more fun, and that counts for a lot. But I discovered I was burning through tires too fast to make commuting on an MT09 worthwhile. And there’s two things about that, that sucks. I hate mounting tires, and tires are expensive.
@julietechosierra
@julietechosierra 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, with how I ride lately I feel I'm spending just as much on gas as my VW GTI...It's just hard to baby the throttle on this bike because it's so fun! My tires don't seem to be wearing down too fast though, what kind of tires were you running? Mine came with some Dunlop sportmax's on it.

@@julietechosierra the first set was Bridgestone S20s I think, they may have been S21s but I'm pretty sure they were S20s, the rear lasted about 2500 miles. After that I got Angel GT2's, and they lasted 3600-3800 for a rear. When you put a shit load of miles on, a rear only lasts a couple months. I put 8000 miles on my MT09 last year. I think it has a lot to do with the roads where I live, they're all asphalt and in shitty condition.

Coming from a 600 to the MT-09 there's no question that the MT-09 makes for a better commuter bike. However, most of that is due to ergos. Neither the 600 or the MT are very happy chugging along with traffic at low speed and low acceleration. It wants to be ridden like a hooligan. Although I love it, if commuting is your first priority then I would agree that the MT-07 is probably a better choice.
@lucyferina
@lucyferina 4 жыл бұрын
Those bikes are called MT (Empty) for a reason gas mileage is not great on those small tanks. other than that they are great. I got both the MT-10 and the MT09 and I can tell you, to me the MT09 seems more fun for the most part, of course the MT-10 is great when you need balls to the wall power, the little windshield on the MT-10 actually does work, yes the MT-09 needs a windscreen once you go faster than 80 it is a must. My mods, of course proper turn signals with the LED relay, Mirror extenders (the OEM mirrors don't bother me but I needed them to be a little further out). radiator covers, and that is about it, I actually like how quiet that bike is, the MT-10 is just a little louder but not that much.

@lucyferina
@lucyferina 4 жыл бұрын
@@julietechosierra Test ride the MT-10 if you can, it is a very different ride from the MT-09, even though the bikes weigh almost the same the ride feels different , and also even though the CCs are very close, the 10 has way more torque than the 9. but if you are considering a cruiser, I say test ride both. I traded my cruiser for the two nakeds (the 9 and the 10) and at times I miss it (mostly because of the storage).

There is a plug under the tank that you can purchase an adapter to usb. From there you can run a charger. I use quadlock’s system. The plug only receives power while the bike is on. These bikes can be ridden in all conditions except for ice. Ice and motorcycles do not go together. If riding in wet weather, do be sure to lube the chain.

@julietechosierra

that sounds like the kind of mileage that I get if I'm doing a lot of riding around town in A mode with a lot of hard accelerations. Normal highway riding though to and from work I get 45-50'ish MPG...it's just so hard to drive it "normal" because the bike is such a blast when you open the throttle.

Hi there. I am 6.9 (1.75m). I drive every day in my city but every last day of month i have to go for a 60 miles (100km) road trip and come back. If i get your wind screen, in your opinion do you think i could keep a speed about 90 miles /h (150klm/h) during this trip or it will be exhausting? Thanks for your time. Enjoy riding and be always safe.
@julietechosierra
@julietechosierra 4 жыл бұрын
I usually cruise at 85mph sometimes and the windscreen still makes the ride pretty comfortable at that speed. Once you start going faster than that though the wind becomes a little more felt on your upper body/head. If you are going to cruise at 90+mph for an extended period of time then you might want a taller windscreen. But if you don't like the look of taller windscreens then I think the MRA would work just fine.

@julietechosierra

Even in B mode the bike has a lot of power. I personally do not like it in B mode because I feel there is too much of a delay in power delivery when you twist the throttle...which can be a good thing, but also a bad thing. The biggest thing when starting on a bigger bike is to just take it slow and know your limits.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Romans 10:9-10. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 1John 5: 10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. .............
