For those of you who might be contemplating going into the furniture repair business I'm going to start listing the hand tools, machine tools and supplies needed to operate successfully.. Today's entry would be 'wood clamps' ..I've calculated that a minimum of 500 wood clamps should be on hand at all times... Beautiful job as always..

I've been binge watching your videos for days!!! I'm so enthralled! To the point where I watch other channels "doing restorations", and I find myself saying that's not right at points. Thinking Trena would have this taken apart. And truly if you want to repair and restore you have to break it down, in my opinion. Simply because of aesthetics. Doing it right the first time.

@@johnsfurniturerepair never ever be sorry for passing along proper technique. I'm not. It just gives me the courage to do it the correct way. I love all things wood. It breaks my heart to see lovely things poked full of metal, fillers, and glues in an intrusive way. I get the fact not everyone is as "particular" as I am(aka anal). So I'm grateful for your content

@Trena~ That burled walnut veneer is spectacular! You brought this dresser back to life with impeccable craftsmanship. The owners of the two pieces you've now completed must be thrilled! I got a good laugh when you said you'd done a fair bit of swearing when working on the drawers......I feel you Sister, I'm fluent in shop swearing too! HAHAHA! ;-) But seriously, that burled walnut veneer is to die for! I covet veneers & solid slabs of wood that reflect the life cycle of the tree it came from. There's something so breathtaking about seeing the "natural figure" and grain revealed in the milling process:...burled, curly, quilted, flamed, spalted, bird's eye, fiddleback. I'm especially mesmerized by the unique grain patterns, bark inclusions, and color variations found in crotch wood milling. Have you ever watched one of Matt Cremona's KZbin videos of him milling up a huge maple log crotch section, on the custom mill he designed and built himself? If you ever have time, check one of them out....it is oddly satisfying, entertaining and relaxing! Trust me, you'll dig it ;-) LOL. CHEERS! ~~Christy~~
