Definitely should’ve stayed in college another two years. Polished his game. It couldn’t have hurt him. Agents get in the players ear however or people period. Making the league is a goal & accomplishment in itself but lasting should be the main one.

Jd is measured at 6'0.5 barefoot, but his standing reach is 8'3.5. Avery bradley's standing reach is 8'2.5, so there is some hope jd can at least be a backup sg or 3rd string sg in the nba.

He’s a very humble young man & has great work ethic from what I seen from old interviews at the height of his popularity few years back. I loved his highlights reels too, it’s just coming from such poor area & dominating players at that level in high school. I kinda knew he may rush to join the league too fast not even just for the money but to simply get a jumpstart on his career. May have thought whatever he learned in college play can be done twice as fast in the NBA. Just that reality sets in & many young players realize the NBA is just a totally different animal that your game has to be matured & well equipped for.

As a Celtics fan, I’ve watched his G League games. While he might not be a true point guard, he has the potential to become a solid bench player. Although he can be a bit sloppy, his exciting style of play allows him to put up impressive numbers. To succeed in the league, he’ll need to improve his defensive skills, leveraging his athleticism and lateral movement

It’s funny really. Hayes had the capability to be a good scorer. Unfortunately for him he couldn’t shoot to save his life but since he’s a decent defender on that level they gave him burn to figure it out. We all know how that ended up. Then you have JD who if given the same opportunity would probably have developed into at least a solid rotational player.

When you speak of him being a point guard… he fits better as a point guard due to his facilitating I.Q. He is an exceptional reader on the floor he sees and know where everyone is on the floor his bonus is he can actually score in the paint and be an outside shooter… he’s an all around player, he needs to be on a team that needs his skills. Boston is top heavy… a good fit can be the Knicks poor Jalen needs help and JD can be utilized there… I hope the Celtics do not waste his talents he can be special if he gets that chance

@MAXIMUSWE
@MAXIMUSWE 5 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say that - he's definitely over achieved and people respect him for that , but teams aren't looking for undersized below the rim point guards lol. If that were the case every PG projected in the 2nd round would be filling rosters. Brunson is just DIFFERENT. It seems like there's some correlation between having NBA fathers as well - they're blessed with those genetics & knowledge, their fathers know exactly how hard it is to break into the league and have connections throughout the league as well to develop the kids growing up.
@buzzerbeater3350
@buzzerbeater3350 5 ай бұрын
@@MAXIMUSWE No, this is true. Coach Nick from BBall Breakdown, among other coaches, has said coaches are now teaching their young players to play like Brunson. You won't see the impact for a few years. People said the same thing about Steph Curry. Now almost everyone has to be able to shoot the three.
@MAXIMUSWE
@MAXIMUSWE 5 ай бұрын
@buzzerbeater3350 Yes , I'll partially agree with that sentiment, because he plays the right way. I don't think though a far as athleticism, shooting form etc , size they're looking for players like him. It also hasn't made them stop selecting 1 and dones either. It's just the same as TJ McConnell, factually one of the best pure point guards in the league - but just because of what he looks like his size etc , and not being a offensive first kinda guy , teams don't generally draft guys like him. In fact he was undrafted himself, and people STILL say he stinks. Although that's mostly casual fans.

JD Davison didn't contribute in the games so he doesn't deserve a ring??? What about practicing with the team, making them better! How many young players get drafted and sits the bench while their team become champions...and they don't deserve a ring?? I'm heated!!!!!
