The biggest way dogs communicate with each other is through body language. The really cool thing is that dogs never do anything without warning, what they're thinking is written all over their bodies. The key is to be able to recognize these signals and understand what it means to the dog.
As a basic rule the more in motion a dog is the more relaxed they are, while stiff and not moving can mean tension. Happy and waggy good, stiff and still is bad.

Dog guy, the hair on their back raised are called “hackles”. Also it’s can be VERY stressful for a dog entering a park with an established pack meeting them at the gate. Many times it results in fight or flight response. I know my girl ( a dominant alpha Malinois) is “fight” mode coming in at the gate meaning no dog is going is going to give her shit. 99% of dog issues at dog parks are owners who let the pack congregate at the entrance

For the leash problem, I heal my dogs on the right and use my body to shield them from passing traffic.

I have a dog that is very scared of everything. I want to try to help him relax while he is still young. Unfortunately he was not socialized with people until he was about 4/5 months old. The breeder just had him with other dogs. He is very attached to me but runs from my family and friends and can not relax unless he his in my room under my bed. No life for a little Aussie.
