I bought the Joyzee Hornet and it worked great on trimming the private parts. I also bought the 6F blade for it. Removing the standard blade that comes with it was a breeze but applying the 6F blade was so hard. I wasn't able to finish grooming my dog with the hornet, I had to finish grooming with my old crappy Oster trimmer. So, for the first time with the Hornet I was very disappointed since I didn't really get to use it. Afterwards I did manage to to the 6F blade on. But it wasn't easy just like you said and it took me awhile to get it on. So on my next grooming of my fur baby, I hope to get the full Hornet experience. Your video instruction to apply the blade was so helpful to me. I appreciate you so much!! Thank you 🐶

I have to thank you for explaining, through your research, the difference between the blades for the Kenchii Flash and other clippers. I watched your video on the difference between the top and bottom-line clippers and trusted your choice of clippers. So glad I did. I purchased my Kenchii Flash in one clipper about 4 months ago. I now solely use this clipper with the changeable blades available on my 4 toy and teacup size Maltese. Love, Love, Love these clippers. After purchasing 5 prior brands including Wahls KM 10. I much prefer to use Kenchii on their coats. I keep their bodies short but prefer long legs tails and ears. They are all adorable and are now very used to the grooming table. Thank you again, Amy, for a great chat. I have learned still more. I never watch you without learning just one or many more new things. I.e. I now understand why my clippers get so clogged with hair so quickly and what the speeds are for. When I spoke with you during the hounds session, you suggested the best clipper for me would be the Joyzee Piranha. I take it that this clipper is not available yet, so I will have to hold on and wait !! You were so high on the Flash, which I have, but couldn't get the30 blade and guard combs on. I sure wish I could make that work. Because I love the Flash. So here is a really stupid question. If I bought them again, could I just oil the groves where you slide the guard combs on with so they would go on easily with the much less strength in my arthritic fingers. Your kenchii flash is a great clipper. I would suggest trying your oiling trick on the flash you currently have. 😊 The piranha may be your best option if that doesn’t work.💖

Hello! I've been searching for this type of detailed information on dog clippers forever, thank you!!! If you could possibly help me with a question I'd greatly appreciate it as I am not familiar with using clippers for other than paw pads & small touch ups. I've used human clippers on her paw pads which she has tolerated, but her hair has got more dense with age & the teeth are definitely not spaced wide enough. Question.... What would be the best affordable option for a 22lb, CKCS who will only tolerate shorter grooming sessions? Coat is largely natural length & thickness. I scissor trim leg feathers, paws, paw pads for length & private areas. However, coat has become thicker around neck & chest with age & now has some arthritis in back legs/ hips which makes the grooming process more difficult, especially private areas. Have used a groomer recommended Andis shedding rake, but she doesn't tolerate it well anylonger. In order to make the grooming process quicker & easier for her I'm looking for a more affordable clipper for a quicker, more comfortable trim on the thicker neck hair, private areas, paws, paw pads. Would you be able to give any advice or recommendation? Thank you!

That was two years ago and we cannot continue a strictly raw diet due to me. It always being available. So I choose to feed my boys the next best thing-a fresh whole food diet. Almost two years now and the results are the same. It’s more convenient when others have to care for our boys and I can feel great about meeting their nutritional needs 💖

I have a Miniture poodle and Miniature small schnauzer. I need a new clipper. I have some arthritis in my hands so I want something without a cord that is lighter weight. I believe I want to order the Kenchii flash, I now use a 30 blade on my Poodles face, but I also use a comb it’s plastic, on her body . wondering about batteries, recharging, what's best. I have an arco 5 in 1 and already in my second battery, which is not holding charges. Frustrating to use at home as toy poodle sensitive areas and the darn thing power goes weak, then comes on, goes weak, etc....should I replace but which? I also use ultra edge for body work, it heats up, but I put on ice and change to a second blade....I groom my toy poodles every 10 days and have been doing this for 15 yrs....I love your thinning shears. You will need an A5 clipper such as the raptor or wahl km10. Even though you groom at home, you still need profession tools. That’s one of the biggest messages I teach on my channel.

Good Morning and Thank You for all your posts on dog grooming. I have a year old 55lb sheepadoodle who was good until she wasn't for her groomer. She has strong herding instincts and I also found out around that time she has anxiety and is over aroused. I am now going to be grooming her. I am in the process of figuring out what clippers to get and I think I need something far more quite for her head and neck. I'm thinking a cordless clipper would work better for that, she gets scared easily. I am almost half way through this video and would like your thoughts on using a cordless on her. I'm not sure about a 5 in 1 clippers.

I would not choose a 5 in 1 for a sheepadoodle. Any detachable blade clipper such as the wahl km10 is best.

Hi Amy! I have been watching you for months and have learned SO much! I have groomed my girl, Luna a few times and I have returned a few crappy clippers, most recently the Kenchi flash 5. My dog has fur that can be dense in certain areas and the kenchi didn't work for me-not enough power, torque. That being said, I am ready to purchase a wahl km 10 but it's out of stock everywhere! 🥲 Figures! My girl is 1/2 bichon, 1/2 shih tzu. What can you recommend I use until they are available? Guessing when you own a no chi, asmr grooming live is a necessity of the expertise. There is an open way of addressing tea clippers and tamagotchi decoy attachment, but would that sound like another language of dubious power assertion? The trouble with manipulative traits and passive covert aggression, is that nibbling away like corrosive noxious poison is seen as a set of feminine psychological traits, hence disappointment in masculinity flexed as a convoluted concept. After all, no one wants to look like an aggravated Snow White carrying two tits on her shoulders constantly, like a reversed image of Romulus and Remus; yet women really do appear to like the expertise of Oedipal behaviours quite a lot. A freudian/yung conflict of interests? Is there a genuinely correct reason for wanting to hit someone over the head with a real telephone after a cacophony of nuisance callers exerting their correct expertise? Mr Miage certainly seemed to have an ability to catch flies in his chopsticks, just to stop the bzzz zz z, not that they provide a great great deal of protein sustenance to anybody.

I probably wont do more than 5 dogs a week for quite a while so I just bought a wahl diamond replacement blade and am now looking into the kenchii flash:) Im trying to research clippers for full grooms.. I would like to use an adjustable blade with combs.. is that possible for full grooms? I like the spektra, they also have reaktor (can't find much on it so it may be pretty new). I'm a new groomer just starting my own business... was using Wahl 5 in 1 with combs for all overs but now I need something better. I prefer not to have A5 as I don't want to have to buy a bunch of blades and attachments, which is why I like adjustable..is this doable?

To my knowledge, there are no guard times that large, and to be honest, it would be very cumbersome to work with. If I need to leave that much length on a dog, I am must hand scissor them.

Thanks Amy! very well explained and you are a joy to watch, i would very much appreciate if you could advise me on which clippers you recommend to keep my cat felix's butt end tidy he has some small matts on the back of his legs and butt area i need to clip out, he has a lovely shiny coat and in great condition as i brush and de-shead him weekly he lets me trim him and keep him tidy with cheap beard trimmer as its nice and quiet. but unable to get the matts off him as it wasn,t made for that, i need to up my game with some decent clippers that can handle small matts and is very quiet, any advice would be very very much appreciated, love the channel and taking the time to help us pet lovers.

Hi loved your video great info!! I'm just a home groomer so always still learning. I hv a small YorkiePoo so I'm leaning towards the Joyzee hornet. My dilemma is, I hv sinus issues with the smell of my dogs hair when it grows out so I hv to keep her basically shaved no length of coat. I hv been using Oster pro trimmer with t blade. It works fine on private areas. But I hv to be extremely careful on the body trim using it. Since I hv to shave her it can be irritating to her skin. Which makes my want to cry! If I get the Joyzee hornet which extra blade would be best for the body shave? I looked at the cheat sheet on the blades but still not sure which one would be best. Or is there a comb attachment that would work better for a shave any suggestion? Thank you. ❤

.... not designed to be vaxxed every year either- After 2 puppy parvo & distempers shots & 1 rabies- Get your pup titered after 2-3 wks to see if they are immune to the Big 3- Parvo, Distemper & Rabies. University of Kansas does them if you vet does not. Also, thank you for the sharpening service info- been looking. I have just kept buying new blades so I have several to send out. I have an Andis corded which I like, but I want a mini cordless to do my pups smallish paws.

it's the same thing, it's just that the attachment comb numbers/colors arent listed because they might vary from brands, or you might end up with a set that has the length but no numbers (like I do.) The comb attachments will typically have the length it gives on the attachment next to the number (as opposed to the blades themselves.) For example her chart says that the #5 blade leaves 1/4" or roughly 6mm of hair. If that's your desired length, use the comb attachment that reads 1/4" or 6mm.

I would choose the Joyzze raptor corded model. It does a fantastic job and it’s even cheaper than the wahl km10 that is temporary early out of stock.

hello Amy.. thank you so much for your time sharing tips for us.. i am really confused about the a "flash" blade which you show on 34:40 .. i counted 16 teeth on that flash blade but there is no 16 teeth flash for sale in kenchii website(they have more than 20).. the ones with 16 teeth are for only "flash5" (not compatible with flash).. 16 teeth blade seem to have more distance between their teeth.. i have a toy poodle (1 year old, 9 pounds).. i want to fully groom her with one clipper.. if you consider öy dog and my confusion about blades (number of teeth), can you please help me to choose ? 1) flash ? Both are great and I own both clippers. The flash 5 will be cheaper to purchase compatible stainless steel guard combs than the flash. As a 5 in 1 clipper, I prefer the flash. If you are going to use the clipper for full haircuts., you need the stainless combs. Flash5

However now I am getting a divorce and will need to do this myself. I have watched several of your videos and though I cannot imagine spending $500.00 on a clipper, I still need to know the best for his hair. TY!

Just in case she doesnt answer your question... I'm going to help you out lol. If your dog is constantly knotted or has very thick coat, get an a5 (I usually suggest Wahl km clippers) but it your dog isnt prone to being matted and doesnt have crazy thick hair, you can go with a 5-in-1 blade. Either way, you're going to want to get a good professional clipper off the bat. If you go with an a5 clipper, that's going to run you about $200 to $270. Get a #30 blade and a set of metal wahl guard combs for best results... bringing you to $350 - $400. You should be able to get away with a Wahl Creativa (personal favorite workhorse for grooming my cat at home) since it is just your 1 dog BUT you will need the guard comb set (for longer lengths) and a couple extra 5-in-1 blades... which will bring you to about $350. Consider that 1 groom for a small poodle in good condition is around $75 to $85 in a lot of grooming shops around the country currently so it will have paid for itself in a few grooms. Extra bonus advice... the grooming scissors most people buy at pet stores or Amazon are garbage... even for grooming your 1 pet at home. I habe started suggesting small copanies like Freebird grooming shears or Foxy Roxy or the like because you can get nice kits with different size scissors or nice quality at a decent price.... but a lot of small companies offer payment plans or you can pay with various payment apps that allow you to do payment plans 😉 Biggest tip... spend the money up front rather than buying cheap stuff, it doesn't work or you hate it and get frustrated and still end up buying expensive, good guality stuff. It happens all the time lol Also... best advice.... COMB your dog out, make sure there's no knots BEFORE bath... bathe and rinse thoroughly and completely. Shampoo residue will dull your blades and could irritate your dog's skin. DRY your dog completely before cutting the hair...esp if you go with a Creativa or Bravura or Kenchii Flash or any other 5-in-1 clipper because they are not as strong. Lots more people are grooming their dogs at home for various reasons and I think they should be set up for success 🥰. Sorry about the crappu circumstances/situation but it can be a fun bonding experience and save you A TOM of money in the long run. hope this all helped... good luck!
