Loose Leash Walking: • How to teach a dog to ...
Today I am going over a video that was recommended to me to show some examples of dog body language and interaction between two dogs at a dog park. From what I see in the video, the owner if the Shepherd is the ACTUAL bully, not the husky. What do you think?
I will be giving my point of view on the methods being used, as well as giving the animal(s) in this video a voice. Don't blindly follow what someone says, even if they are a "professional", use your own critical thinking skills and question the tools, the method, and the trainers.
I am using all footage under the Fair Use Act for criticism and educational purposes, and do not wish for anyone to send hateful messages to the original poster. I hope to spread awareness about this type of unnecessary and dangerous practice that is so prevalent in the dog training world and horsey world, and to give these animals a better life. Let me know what you think of it, and what you would like to see next time! Until then, practice Patience, Peace, and Pawsitivity! :3

I hate ppl! We have something similar going on at our dog park, a very old man owns a very large aggressive shepherd who comes in trying to back all the other dogs into corners or into submission, while his owner says "he's fine, they're just playing" mind you every dog in that park gets bit at least once. There are a lot of small dogs that use this park, 1 good "well placed" bite could end a small dogs life, yet this aggressive dog is..."just playing" 🙄 The last time we went I had to pack up & leave early so that my dog didn't kill his after his shepherd tried over & over again to hump my very large chiseled rotty who's pet peeve is humping & I KNOW my dog was NOT playing! He gave this dog every single proper que to back the f up... b4 having to defend his personal space. Mind you I'm a 48 yo woman & many of the other dog owners, including the shepherds owner are elderly & unable to assist safely (as if there is ever safety in a dog fight)if these guys all break out into a fight because of 1 badly behaved asshole & his dog! It's worse than dealing w a Karen parent who thinks their child can never do wrong! These ppl should stay OUT of dog parks!!!

Yeah I watched this guy once and thought it was really strange that he brought that type of dog to a dog park with clear intentions of "correcting" other dogs behavior. Save that for a class, not unsolicited at the local dog park.

I'm pretty sure this is the same guy who crossed his Malinois with his mutt, he is so irresponsible. Then he said he was going to finally neuter him, like the damage hasn't already been done 🤦🏽‍♀ He is a red flag, for sure.

I've been waiting for someone to call out this dude. Since the first time I saw his videos, I was shocked how all the comments seemed to just take his word for everything. In many videos it's obvious his malinois is the problem and the aggressor, but somehow he doesn't seem to see it that way, even though he's supposed to understand dog behavior sooooooooo well.

This was really confusing at first (the Husky wasn’t causing problems). The Mal is clearly the aggressor. Is the owner proud of its bullying? What happens when it escalates?

Talk about irresponsible!!!!!! I have trained dogs since 1969. No way would I take any one or all 8 of my dogs to a dog park.

2:39 not a lab, even though it has it's annoying, obtrusive personality. It has straight ears, not bulky, curly-ish tail. It's that mix we saw a bit before, that one with the blue eyes, mist likely a Husky mix, maybe lab. I hate dog parks too. We don't have any where I live (Bavaria, Germany) but we got dog schools which organize play hours. For which you pay money to let your dog getting bullied by 40 others 🙈 I was there only once when my rescue Akita was a puppy and I didn't meet any dogs due to the season and wanted to socialize her. She got bullied and puposely ran over by several Labradors and I wasn't allowed to help, other people should push her away also when she was looking for help and the "trainer" said she's curious if my Akita will learn to defend herself. Like WTF 😱 no one wants that. I went there for the opposite reason. So I grabbed my shaking, curled to a ball Akita sweetheart and they never saw me again. I did my own thing as always, taught her that I handle all situations and won't let any dog hurt her and she turned out to be an amazing dog. Social with ALL dogs and animals, so obedient that she can be offleash wherever it is allowed. She won't leave the path, doesn't chase anything (due to training), does not walk up to other dogs or people, I don't need a single command.

Good to see you back again, Taylor! If you're feeling up to it, do you think you could review a video titled "Stallion attack on public bridleway"? It'd be interesting to learn about the horse's behaviour given the situation they were put in. Note that the loose horses were dumped there and shouldn't have been there in the first place.

@@K9Tay Ive just seen a couple of this guy's videos, he has absolutely zero control over his dogs. I've counted at least 5 videos where Ronin jumps the fence. The worst I've seen so far is "Belgian Malinois Corrects German Shepherd At The Dog Park". Ronin jumps the fence, jumps on a random lady, chases a small dog after jumping the fence again, then has a go at a German shepherd that he basically landed on after jumping the fence the first time.

There was a study a few years ago German Shepherd rank lower on social skills compared to half of the dogs. Only sled dogs and golden retriever have the the original doggy body languages completely intact.

Oh really?! I had no idea, but that's makes sense. German shepherds are made to work well with people, not as much with other dogs

I have so many questions about the heelers and how this person thinks it's okay to not be in the dog park where his dog is at! I agree with you. From what I can see on this angle that husky wasn't in the wrong and redzone? Seriously? He thinks that is redzone?! He should of recalled or got his dog wayyyy sooner, and yes that jump, of course the husky would jump up! My heelers would nip too if there was a dog jumping back and forth. Man, please tell me this isn't someone who is a dog trainer.

That Mal's tail was a dominant gesture and not his natural position, as you said correctly. And the poor Husky was indeed innocent, clearly afraid and stressed out by the dead eye Mal. But my Swiss Shepherd (white GSD) has a naturally curled tail which many dogs missread. I always had Nordic dogs, and the one time I get a "normal" dog, it has a curled tail as well 😂😂😂😂😂

3:19 i think what happened was that the husky was becoming too aroused which attracted ronin (the mal) as some dogs like that arousal. at parks my dog wont partake in scuffles but wont hesitate to ask for space (nothing over the top). one time a dog was trying to bully other dogs and mine just stayed away from that. i find i get more exercise at dog parks than at regular parks because a lot of people just use that time to be on the phone instead of watching their dogs so i dont go often. my dog seems to like parks with dogs in them more than dog parks. most of the time at dog parks he just sits near me especially if a large husky is there. this is a dog who literally decided to just walk 4 miles home while my stepdad was hiking with him. oh and this is a shih tsu mix lol. im not for or against dog parks as they can be good places for dogs to exercise weather its well socialized dogs playing together or an owner taking their dog after hours. but they can also be terrible places if people are not careful and dont abide by whatever rules the park has set up or just dont use discernment. with my dog he never goes in if there are dogs that have a major size difference when compared to him. the park however was good training for him for moving to peru since a lot of stray and feral dogs like to sniff him. he isnt phased by them usually unless its a large fluffy dog or if the dog tries to stalk him and i have to prepare myself.

9:53 - Considering sled dogs are prone to roaming, it's a bad idea for the dog owner to allow the Malinois to teach other dogs how to jump the fence.
