Yes. I 100% agree. The penalties are too light. Especially for organized (or unorganized) dog \ chicken fighting. Harsher jail terms are needed. In my opinion, animal fighting sentences should be classed as a violent offense. Because it's creating a violent atmosphere, and it's directly causing violent actions. It's a violent offense, but not according to our court system, which does not consider it a violent offense. There is no way for someone to "innocently" get into animal fighting. It requires a dedicated lifestyle that someone *chooses* (over and over) to be involved in. It's a series of decisions made repeatedly. Therefore, there is no excuse. It's not like other crimes, that possibly someone could be talked into, or a crime done "in the heat of the moment" or a crime committed while not in your right mind, or under the influence, etc. Dogfighting is a lifestyle that these criminals engage in, and there is no excuse. They do it for money, fame (disgusting) and because they enjoy violence and a violent lifestyle. No excuse, therefore legally they are entitled to no mercy.

Such a heart warming story. I love it when bigger dogs get a second chance. I just rescued a drug dealer’s dog who was tossed out of her home at 3am. Elijah is amazing! Not only is he an amazing big brother to fosters coming through his house, but he also brightens up the day for many seniors at their nursing homes! I'll never forget how much my grandma loved dogs and when a therapy dog would come through her assisted living center she and every other resident would have huge smiles and be over the moon! Even when she was no longer verbal and really struggling the dogs were able to get big smiles from her! Never ever ever ever underestimate the ability of a dog to heal people; improving a person's mental and psychological state has a major ability to help them physically as well. Therapy dogs like Elijah are the closest thing in this universe to actual angels. Major thanks to Elijah and his mom for helping seniors and helping so many foster dogs!

He was barely alive when Amy and 100 Plus Abandoned Dogs Rescue came out to rescue him! After getting much love and many medical procedures, TK came along and adopted him. When she showed him with other dogs and said it was a 180 turnaround- THAT'S what got me 😭! Because that was my first question from the beginning! I am so very happy they found one another and he is HEALED from his past and enjoying life and love as he should've been his entire life! What a beautiful dog and beautiful woman!
