That child should have never been attacked. This wouldn’t happen if the human responsible didn’t want to show off that he had a big dog that is know for its protective nature. He says he has a bad back, then don’t get a giant dog that weighs more than you. Don’t own a dog you can’t train. All you do is make people and the dog suffer. 😢

My Great Aunt and Uncle ran a local village shop and lived above it. They had German Shepherds for security. When the previous dog died he went and got a new male dog called Falco and he was huge and fluffy and the only danger he would pose was licking someone to death! He loved everybody. So my Great Uncle went back and got a female called Heidi, we were not allowed near her as children. We were also no longer allowed to go out back into the storeroom to the stairs to their home by ourselves. She was a proper guard dog and would growl at everyone. Anytime they had visitors to their home they put the dogs outside, who played together happily. I never felt scared of her as I knew my Great Uncle had her under control and we respected that she had a job and didn't like other people. As a kid every household except one in my family had at least one dog. Dogs are what you make them.

And corsos lean aggressive without proper socialization, which I doubt he provided. I worked at a vet for almost a decade. Saw so many dog breeds and the three that always made staff nervous were German shepherds, cane corsos, and African boerboels (not a common breed in general but we had a few local breeders so we saw a fair amount). Everyone’s always “oh pitbulls are terrible”. No. They were usually one of our favorites because of how aloof they tend to be. The three I mentioned are usually very aggressive to strangers and always need to have a truly knowledgeable and dedicated owner. When they said cane corso honestly that kid is lucky to be alive.

I’m so sad for both: the boy and the dog! Dogs need to be trained which I assume wasn’t the case here. In addition to that the owner was very irresponsible. I wish the dog had had another owner. Now he’s dead 😢

That was an easy case. The dog owner willfully violated court orders to have his dangerous dog muzzled and covered by insurance. It got loose, and a poor kid was bitten. If the dog had been muzzled, the bite doesn't happen. If the idiot owner had proper insurance, it would have taken care of the bills. They must have had other cases, or Judy might have padded the episode by giving the defendant a tongue lashing. Or maybe she realized he was too stupid to know what he was doing and decided not to give both barrels to a developmentally disabled adult.

The mom was happy for the judgment. I hope she does, as JJ said, and put the money away for the son. He was the one who was attacked. Therefore, he deserves the judgment that was made in HIS favor.

I hate that some people sit here and say “who cares about the dog” or “no one cares about the dog” Stfu, no one care about you. That dogs life was taken away because of a stupid owner. That kid got hurt because of a STUPID owner. That dog is not at fault for anything!! He was a living creature just like us and yall have the guts to be disrespectful about it. Show you guys haven’t loved or grew up with animals.

I a surprised by all the comments about the plaintiffs never seeing the money. THE JJ SHOW PAYS… that is why people go on the show… they are prepped to act like their money is at stake… it is not.

This man is just careless...All he had to do is have the dog on a leash and muzzled. Now this child had a terrible experience, and the dog is put down...😡...and if his back is so bad how was he able to jump on the dog to get him off the boy...😒

Poor kid who was in a lot of pain. Dog bites are painful. He could easily have been killed. Poor dog that paid with its life due to a stupid, selfish, arrogant, insecure man. A Cane Corso is like a Pitbull on steroids. It needs to be socialized early, and get enough exercise and training. Not a breed for a city dweller. This man had criminal negligence in no insurance, no muzzle, and a dog he could not control. Outrageous. He should be in jail.

I've only had small dogs. And often people don't bother training them well because their aggression is "funny". Small dog syndrome. I never allow it. Our biggest dog was only 26 pounds. Even so, I made sure they were leashed, well-mannered, and socialized. One was a rescue that had some dog aggression out of fear, and I took extra precautions, knowing that he could start something. People who have these big dogs, especially certain breeds, need to have even more diligence. No excuse.

Poor doggo, could've lived a healthy life if the owner was more responsible with the leash and a proper muzzle 😢 at least the kid is okay, that's traumatizing though 😅
