Dogs should 100% get to vote. It would save this country. Nacho had me crying in the club early. I've seen cases of dogs getting adopted and then caught as strays or dumped and brought back to our shelter. I'm so glad Nacho found his TRUE forever home! And omg Minnie ;; She was destined to go back to her dad! Miller too; what a brave boy protecting his lil sister!

There needs to be a program that helps people keep their dogs; the gentleman with cancer, had someone been able to come in and walk his dog, feed/water the dog... he wouldn't have had to give the dog up, and the dog would not have been in the shelter all that time.

When I was a kid I had a German shepherd/lab mix, great family dogs… my mom would let me go play in the yard so long as I brought the dog with me since that dog viewed me as his baby, he would protect me to the end… Currently I have a pit-leopard catahoula mix. I love her to the moon but she’s in the last year/s of her life. I love the feeling of protection I get from her being half pit and half hound as she was literally bread to be the distraction dog while hunting and her brothers were the “put them to the grounders” so I have felt safe with her when on hikes and camping since she has that hound nose and muscle/knowledge to distract while I find a way out. Tho since her age/health, she takes long walks in a dog-stroller now. But I’ve always preferred hounds over all else. I’ve decided that when I’m ready for a new dog I’ll be searching for a catahoula mix or a beagle mix. If I could find another pit-leopard that would be amazing tho 😢

It happens more often than you'd think. People try to make good decisions. Too often an adopted pet is just "one more thing" when someone is facing a bad time. It would have been better for Nacho if they had just taken him back to the shellter, but ... we can only guess at what happened. At least Nacho has a great home and a dogparent who loves him.

I don't know if you're aware but, at least in the US, there is an org called Pilots N Paws, where pilots donate time and airplanes to transport pets for adoption or medical purposes. It might be faster than 14 relay drivers, provided the dog tolerates it (including headsets for the noise).
