Perhaps I'm not very observant, but I didn't notice many bins in the park. I've heard that people will litter less if there's a bin handy.

We were on a clifftop walk in Scotland when our lab discovered a dead maggot ridden rabbit..... she also decided to go for a one dog pitch invasion at the local park during Sunday morning football.

4:11 As the owner of collies / springers I can't tell you how much of a pain in the ass labs like Bing can be out on walks. What makes it even more frustrating is that as seen here - it's not that difficult to fix if they take the time and effort.

Well...the environment too influences both owner and dog.. They are not functioning in a void... Both need guidance at times to figure it out
@angelinacamacho85755 ай бұрын
@TheKingdomWithin-1721 THIS! sometimes its best to just not give the dog the opportunity to even think about doing something which involves knowing your environment and your dog. with this dog since he has this issue and they know wherever he is he may find food the best thing may be to muzzle him or just dont go near places where food is more likely to be available on the ground. scatter feeding at home can also help.
@angelinacamacho85755 ай бұрын
@@earthrooster1969 sometimes dogs and owners need this but sometimes its best to just not put your dog in situations where failure is high.

@TheKingdomWithin-1721 here in peru a lot of people discard food like that. my dog got ahold of a half eaten burger once. the muzzle was only mentioned in case the dog was a sneak like mine is. lots of owners use them for dogs with this issue.

A doggy treat for a burger? My dog was far too smart to accept such a bad trade.
@haplessasshole96154 ай бұрын
It's not just a treat vs. a burger. It's the knowledge treats will happen (remember, she said she never gave him treats because they'd make him fat), plus his human's approval vs. a burger.

my lab wouldn't drop the ball either. I took two balls out with her and she'd drop the first ball in front of me so I could throw the second ball. Alternating the balls.
@susangarvey94155 ай бұрын
Hahaha, my jack russell does that, I had a staffy that when I threw a ball, she'd look at it and look at me as if to say " well go and get it then!"

Also feeding a dog dried food / kibble can cause the same behaviour. Should have wet food and chicken etc. included in diet. Much better for your pets h ea lth and kidne ys.

I recently heard a Brit being surprised at how clean America is. I can tell you, people in almost every place do NOT throw takeout all over a park! No litter and no half-eaten food. Problem solved.
