Dogsledding in Kiruna, Sweden

Six days dog sledding in the forests outside of Kiruna Sweden in the Lapland region. We had great weather, clear skies, and only one day of severe cold. It was 6 days of no electricity, no cell phones, no running water, and no internet. It was a great way to unplug from life for a week.
Each tourist is in charge of their own 4 dog team. We spent about 5-6 hours each day on the trails zig-zagging around Kiruna, never straying too far from town, but far enough away that we felt the peace and quiet of the wilderness. Some trails were on the frozen lakes, some deep in the forests, some passing the edge of town (including the famous Ice Hotel). Nights were spent in cozy cabins at the edge of the lake. It's very much a "working vacation", as you are responsible for caring for your dogs as well as keeping the cabins stoked with fire wood and fresh water. There was still plenty of time to relax in the saunas and enjoy the northern lights at night.

Awesome vide, where can I get the gang lines for four dogs? Link please. I’m in the Military and I get out soon. I’m planning on moving to Alaska with my family. We have four huskies and we are looking into getting all the gear necessarily for sledding. We’re going to start dry mushing/bikejoring first. If you could post a link with necessary gear that would be awesome! One more question, if I buy a gang line for four dogs, could I separate it and use it just for one dog? To train them individually, does the gang line let you take them apart to just train one? Or would I have to buy a gang line for just one dog?

Hi! There's a lot there that I don't know. I can set up and run a team but when I show up the gear is already picked out for me. The line is basically in sections for two, and if you want to add another pair you just attach another section. The first section attaches to the sled, and then after that it's just an extension. The extensions work for a pair or a single. They are set up like a "Y". Single line for a few feet and then spit into two. If you're running a single at the font you just attach both ends of the "Y" to the same harness. They are Siberian Huskies. They are such an awesome breed. Extremely friendly and cuddly, and also very strong and dedicated.
