Is the rifle always torquing and jumping that much? Never notised it that much before 🤷♂️
@kriswilson54005 ай бұрын
Certainly looks like the rifle is jumping in the front bag.
@FClassJohn5 ай бұрын
No, it's nothing honestly. I shot a 1.6" 5 shot group with my known load before this. I was testing some new side bags in this video so it looks worse than it is but I also understand why some people are asking about the torque.

Take the 60.5gr load and tune with seating depth. Tuner from there until you have to adjust the seating depth again.
@patrickcolahan74995 ай бұрын
I would run another test from 60.2 to 60.8 at 0.1gr increments to fine tune the load.
@user-TJ3655 ай бұрын
Came here to say the same. If there’s no pressure signs, I’d load it from 60.2 in .2gr increments up to maybe 61.4 or 61.6 and see how wide the node is.
@sohcahtoa57865 ай бұрын
If 60.5 is not near pressure signs I would work small charge changes from 60.1 to 61.0 looking for same or less vertical. Right or wrong that’s the direction I would look.

60.3 to 60.8 in .1 steps. There's magic in there somewhere.

I see good data set to work with at 59. Probably a lower node than you’re chasing, though. Not a lot of vertical, but we can’t rule out wind vs wide shots. I bet it’s a good place to work from. 60.5 appears to tighten up and the data looks good, but sample is small. Try a larger test and perhaps under/over .2 gr. Probably play with seating after that. But I don’t know much, I’m a relatively new F-T/R guy.

John, That rifle is never gonna shoot. I would carefully pack it up and ship to me.

Take the 60.5gr load and tune with shoulder bump.

Watched your video on Todd fouling his barrel. Typically how many rounds does it take to foul a barrel?
@FClassJohn5 ай бұрын
Usually about 3-5

59 to 59.8 for a fine test now

I can’t believe how much that rifle is jumping out of the front rest. Maybe it is just the camera angle and it always does that. Could that contribute to vertical?
@FClassJohn5 ай бұрын

I think that it must have just been the angle thanks for replying. I love watching the content.

What powder are you using if you don’t mind me asking John? I’d load from 60.2-61.2 and do a fine powder test in .2 tenth increments and see where that window starts and ends.
@rodgerthackeray79785 ай бұрын
This is what I would do, but I would start at 60.3 not 60.2. 60 was pretty bad.
