We sure do have gunky edge control brushes! Maybe soak it in shampoo and water overnight. I’ve soaked mine once but only water and it was a toothbrush and I wasn’t trying to clean it so I threw it out lol. Also, yesssss NYer! Aowwwweee! I too had a perm, with braids, and baby hairs on fleek in my high school photo BUT to cover my perm burns 😤 and I used to get teased in college for my septum ring and like two years later it was really really in 😒 band wagon ahh ppl lol love you!

Hey Bri , I have the same issue with build on my edges sometimes but I don't use shampoo I use the Mane's Choice 3-in 1 cowash . I just spray my edges with water and then put a little on my finger tip and massage it in. I like it because I don't have to wash it out . ❤❤❤

I have the same exact edge brush, when the gel builds up i put it in boiling water for like 4 minutes and the gel gets soft and u can just wash it out and its brand new

Girl I am about to put you on from one baby haired loving sista to another, at your next trip to the beauty supply store, get Design Essentials Edge Control. I swear by this product that my edges be laid, it’s very manageable to use, doesn’t turn white or flake off, and it smells bomb. It’s over $10 just a warning but it’s def worth it. Also I find that working with a skinnier brush allows me to have more control when doing my edges. They aren’t usually at the front of the store, it looks more like an eyebrow brush so it’ll be probably on a shelf somewhere, or u can go to Walmart.

Go to the dermatologist and let them give you steroids to help grow hair back in that spot and just clean your edge control brush with dish detergent, once it’s wet take a rat tell comb and comb the gunk all out and then try witch hazel on a cotton pad to clean your edges if you don’t have time to wash them

I said the same thing about the relaxers, I’d rather have my head shaved before I ever relax my hair again 🙄. I felt bald with relaxers bc over time that’s what happens and I’ve also experienced chemical burns in the back of my head.
