Please remember your tracks will freeze to wet ground in the winter we use 2 by 12 or 14 by 12 or 14 feet long covered with used motor oil ,clean your tracks off good and pull up on the oiled boards and your good to GO the next time you're ready, just a suggestion my friend from one good farmer to another.

No end to the projects. Hope the New Year brings fewer challenges!!! As you said in the video, soil sampling gives you baseline figures to build your fertility program by crop. Regarding the algal bloom in Lake Erie, with the H2Ohio program great strides have been made in reducing runoff from farmland. Don't want to get on my soapbox, but major Lake bordering metro areas have a LONG way to go in controlling runoff from failed wastewater/storm drain systems contributing to the problem...need to clean up their act before bitching about farmers.

Every late spring early summer they still talk about the algae bloom in Lake Erie. I live about 45 minutes west of Toledo. So they talk about it on the local news. It will be 10 years this summer when the big one was in Toledo.

It never made news here. I didn’t even learn anything about it till college. It looked like one heck of a mess.

It was, people who were getting there drinking water from Toledo were driving all the way out to my small town to get bottled water,Gatorade and pop. The Ohio National Guard has a mobile water filtration system. They set that up and used the area fire departments to use there tankers to haul water from a couple of different ponds.
