GREAT ADVICE, as always. I do have to say that after being told this (and understanding it) for years, I don’t fully practice it. There are some things that I am just passionate about and if I’m inspired to speak on it and share it publicly then I will do so...as respectfully as possible, of course. The way I see it, the industry, as a whole, has IT’s own agenda and we as actors make our vessels/spirits/souls available in promoting it. Sometimes sharing your opinion publicly may be a benefit to you, depending on the project. And if your views are adverse then maybe that project wasn’t a perfect fit for you in the first place. But I always remind myself about the A, B, C’s of acting...it is an art form, a business, & a culture. The industry wants to make sure that you promote, or at least fit into, their culture. But in doing so I do not wish to silence or diminish mine. I say every ruffled feather is not an automatic burned bridge. And if you fit the character, have great people/social skills, take direction well, and have a great following you’re in a great place. But with being an actor, I must have a principle/value system that I put first before any industry. Respectfully always, D

I was green totally. But I auditioned for William Reynolds on Atlanta. And I was accepted. But I have an agent and. She defiantly told me to take my fb under an alias. As well as I keep my political views and my ideas off social media. It gives horrible publicity. I agree 100% we don't want to become that.

Thank You for this Wendy! I’m thinking of setting up a separate FB account, ( after I take new headshots) which is souly for the Biz. Some of my friends (actors) set a separate FB account, exclusively for “The Business “ so, they have 2 accounts one for old school friends, family, more personal account, and one dedicated to acting, or whatever business they are in. Would you suggest the same?🙏🏽❤️💪🏽🎬

Hi Wendy. What do you think of the actor posting on Instagram more innocuous personal things that reflect our interests (for me, cats, fitness stuff, cars, sunsets and the like)? Best left for a personal site as opposed to a professional site?
@OrganicActing5 жыл бұрын
I think Instagram is moving away from the 'model' side of things. People are more interested in the real you nowadays so everyday clips are ideal if they reveal what's happening in your life.

Hi Wendy I have a question. And I’m not defending anyone. But if Hollywood has a preference for a party or president why should 50% of the viewers, who are on the opposite side of the coin, watch their movies, if that’s the case. Most of these people or presidents are fake , so why do we let this control our lives and why does it matter? Does Hollywood get paid to behave this way or do they not like the money coming in from your viewers? I think this attitude this franchise is their customers. After all over 40% of the viewers are on the opposite side of the coin. I think movie makers in Hollywood should stay out of politics.
