One truth about corporate please do your work and go home... Never try to take extra responsibilities

And get laid off when the layoffs start. The truth is unless you are in the good books of the manager you are always in danger. The best way to be liked by your manager is to keep him/her happy as much as possible for that picking up more responsibilities is paramount.

Only one mantra which I am also working on Work on whatever there in your bucket and make sure you do your job at 100% and take ownership on it. Just go with the flow which I have been advised many PPL. Colleagues are just random PPL. Few exceptions 1 or 2 may be who can sync with your thoughts. Just work and leave. Don't do extra don't do less. And don't be like a I know everything.

Great vid! I have witnessed, first and second hand, that even when an employee politely points out serious company flaws but he/she provides valid, "do-able" solutions, they still get labeled as being negative and eventually will be let go. It is toxic out there.

But Caution: People dont possess these bad qualities if they don't benefit from these. People with all these qualities nornally end up escaping easily because of the very same bad qualities. They just need to make someone else look bad - by shifting the blame ("No Accountability*) and "Gossip" about them... by Showing "Negative attitude".. The nice guy/ gal who is targeted gets caught because he/ she is "Accountable" and does not shift the blame.. they Won't talk back "Unprofessionally" ...

Yes very true at your point 7 and 8 but commitment and failed to deliver with in the expected time it's also depends on many aspects like lack of good resources which is tough now days for any IT companies, this hidden issues management must understand before they make noise about the timeline 😕. Police about company and HR is strict but in my case I never follow official dress, my HR complain about Jeans & T-shirt and why I open my shoe at working time but I raised questions to her why only I have to follow and our other female colleagues use high heels shoes, wearing jeans and T-shirt does not come to your compliance ? I guess some point HR must give some breathable air to employees. But anyway I always keep friendly relationship with everyone may be that could be the reason she never ask me twice and I too feel that she wanted me to follow her policy, but honestly it's tough to maintain official dress, jeans and T-shirt is easy to maintain and comfortable.

Mam i am usually a suggestion and idea box, but i make extra effort and i build process improvement at the same time, which streamlines and scales things up for the entore team. But my last team where using 15 - 16hours per day, 7days per week. And highly resisting improvement. Practicing 20 year old manual methods... that was unethical and unhealthy, even illegal. No time to give proper training and extremely high pressure, even on new joiners. I could not take it anymore so i put my pen down one day. This theam s practive was highly unorganozed and notnin line with the company policy and philosophy. And nobody was watching. And the entire team was run by male members only so they became rough with time, in all their ways. Functioned in an autorikshaw system in the middle of b2b corporates. Up till the 4th level up had the same mentality. Yet the HR did not support me. It was a IS based MNC with 1800 people in Mumbai site only. Many more sites it had cross the globe.

I am facing a problem in my company. I am having 15 years of experience. I am a full technical development guy. My designation is Technical Manager. Recently I have moved to a project where some 6-10 years experience peoples are there. When i ask for any support, they did not provide any support. They are intentionally providing wrong input or they said like they dont know anything but they know everything. When any juniors asked doubt, they are clarifying it very clearly. I have escalated this to my manager's manager. He said that he will take some strict action. What would be the right approach mam?

Hi mam can you please make one video i want to understand people often say that HRs influence people his role is to lead and influence i don't understand whom do an HR influence and how can they influence if it's about influencing employees does that mean doing any training for motivation and all what is it exactly in corporates and why do they need to motivate people they are working by their own choice i feel also does motivation only means influencing Another thing if we really look forward to influence people then i feel we are just driving people to follow company's culture, policy, rules regulations therefore this sounds like our commitment towards a organisation ultimately we are driving people for benefit of company but how does it make change in any individual's life and Influencing them
@theCorporateDiaries Жыл бұрын
Dear Yamini, you have asked a great question and indeed I will be happy to guide you: 1. Yes leading and influencing people is a part of HR's job, its not the only job. 2. the second point you made is absolutely correct, that we drive people to follow company's culture, policy, rules regulations... and the point to understand here is that, we are doing a "job" for company and that job revolves around the tasks "associated" with the company, why you are looking to influence someone in their personal life.. jobs are not about that. Think it from this perspective, a technical manager influence his reportees to do a better job at coding, "this is purely for company's benefit" that code is not helping the employees in personal life. Thats the job of technical manager, likewise HR's have their own job tasks.. 3. HR jobs are highly misunderstood jobs out there, that is the reason I have recently created a separate channel just for my young HR Aspirants, so that they can get relevant answers, the name of channel is "The HR Destination", you can find the link of that in every video, follow me there to get more relevant guidance on HR career. Hope this helps you!!

@@theCorporateDiaries Hello Mam thank you so much for your response. Mam actually there are certain people who say that HRs influence people, change life of people so I got confused i thought influence means influencing someone to become better as an individual, i didn't understand influence can mean influencing them to do better in job, actually Mam different people have different purpose and dream in life like I want to become an inspiring HR leader as well as I am concerned about unemployment therefore I keep thinking how can I influence people to get employed. I thought as HRs are told influencers so i thought as an HR may be I can influence someone to change their life and remove problems of unemployment thus impact to change their life, that's why i was not clear Another thing which i felt if we influence them to do better in job so is there any way where we get evaluated for influencing people like a teacher change life of people he has a count therefore how do HRs influence gets accounted
