Instructive stove install. Will be interesting to hear how long the full hopper will last before a refill. Also, how much ash is produced and how often do you have to clean out the ash.

You really need to decide on a heat source for your in floor heat. I use Propane. Once operating you'll heat the slab and when you open a garage door and close it the recovery is quick. Set it at a low temp, like 45 or 50 and use the pellet stove to bring the temperature up when you're working. You'll never regret it. I keep my garage at 55 and it's quite comfortable for work. If I'm working a long sleeve shirt is often enough to keep me comfortable.

Al, I would recommend getting wall mount propane boiler for back up: Easy to install, no mess inside, and you could run it off 20 lb tanks if needed. Rianni makes a combo boiler that will also do hot water. This is what I use & I have radiant floor heat. I installed the boiler myself so its not very difficult & I am sure you would have no problems. Don't forget to add Sentinal X100 to your boiler loop to stop the corrosion issues (I can see the rust build up in your system installed in the home).

Having used a pellet stove as primary heat for 10 years I do not recccomend leaving your other pallet of pellets outside. Even wrapped up they will absorb moisture, soften and crumble resulting in fines. Pellet stoves hate fines and you will have to clean more often. Love our stove!

We have used these types of pellet stoves for 15 years they work well I recommend that you should have went with the 4-in stove pipe it makes the stove more efficient I also recommend that you have extra igniters on hand and an extra auger motor on hand cuz those are the parts that burn out the most over 15 years that was two stoves I changed one motor three igniters😮

Good morning to the Lumnah family. I hope you have a better experience with your PelPro than I have had. I bought the pelpro 150 back in Jan 2023. Within the first year under warranty. I had to replace the control board, 2 augers, exhaust probe, igniter, and I had to jumper out the hopper door switch because it went bad. I can already see that I am going to have to replace the door seal pretty soon because it is leaking dust out from the top of the glass door. Thier customer service was great though. Did you buy the pellets from TSC? I paid almost $300 for a ton of pellets from Family Farm. I bought my stove from Family Farm & Home. You are correct, the paint kind of sucks. When I opened the box it was in, the paint was scraped up, I think they just do electro coat painting on it. Hint: buy a stove vacuum and vacuum out the fire box area about every other day and dump the fire box. I wish they had built the fire box a little taller because a lot of the pellets bounce off to the side of the fire box. I dump the burnt contents separately and then vacuum out the interior with a bunch of pellets then just sift the pellets out when emptying the vacuum. Then just put the unused pellets back in the hopper. Good luck with it.
