What a great daughter!!! Watching her grow is so much fun. And I gotta say, having Gina a full time part of the channel...what a blessing! It was good when it was mostly you Al, the proof is that so many were with you before she came on full time, but having her here now, working the homestead...well, it made the channel POP!!😁 she’s got a natural gift for filming!! Hope her birthday was awesome!

Yes, our two male goats eat nothing but leaves when they start falling. We can tell where we put them by the lack of leaves in a circle in the yard. They like the Maple tree leaves the most! We chain them to their tie outs and the chain kind of gathers the leaves and then they eat them up! It is fun to watch.

What we wouldn't give for earthworms down here in the Piedmont of NC. The soil has so much clay in it that without fertilizer and lime, one can hardly grow lawn grass. Earthworms are a sign of healthy soil. Are your chickens getting enough "calcium" (eggshell chipped seashells - it comes in bags). Whenever we started to have egg breakage (soft shells) we knew they needed more calcium. What a great way to teach your daughter how to cook. I remember our mother teaching not only my sisters, but us boys how to cook and I never forgot the enjoyment that I get by doing it even to this day.

Happy Birthday Olivia!! My Rhode Island pullets started laying yesterday! I got 2 pullet eggs and 1 double yolker!!!! I had the wood stove cooking for a couple of days, but 80s for next few days, then another cold front. I harvested some lettuce in my little greenhouse, and should harvest beans today. I need to clean out the hoop houses and get them planted. There is some plantain in 2 beds and I have been wanting to make some salve with the plantain.

Goood Morning Al, Gina,Olivia, and Figaro. Happy Birthday Gina! Looks like it was a beautiful day there in New Hampshire. It's a rainy day here in Omaha. What a beautiful, smart, classy young lady Olivia has become! When adding the egg whites, she even knew to fold and not mix! Happy you and Gina got the garden ready for winter. Let it snow, well maybe just a little!

I just planted about 75 cloves of Spanish Roja garlic. I planted enough for an army last year so I have lots left over. I'm thinking of trying to dehydrate some and grind it into garlic powder. The waffles look delicious, Olivia.

Al, i know your a good dad, but please tell Olivia not to wear hanging bracelets While working around the mixer. That scared the heck outta me. I seen a girl get her hand taken off by an auger before. Not much difference between a speeding mixer n that. God Bless...

Happy birthday Gina . Al we have the same growing zone you have but we plant our garlic late September and it is the opposite of what you did 6 inches deep with 2 inches apart plus covered with leaves and than straw. Funny what a different place will do. Have a great day

Great job Olivia!! You folded in those egg whites like a pro!! Gina you're an awesome mentor, Happy Birthday!. 💖💖 I bought my garlic at our nearby Amish store, not sure of the variety. I think it's a hard neck and had some red in it.

I think it's great all the stuff you're able to plant. Love the smell of garlic and onions being sauteed. Looked like some garlic fell out of third bag into box. It's awesome to see someone so young making food from scratch. Great job, Olivia.

No till method for gardening: put a layer of sweet feed on bed with fertilizer, compost, ashes, cover with straw and tarp for 2 weeks. The worms eat the sweetfeed and soften the ground.
Now We're READY for the BIG DAY!!!
