First of all, congratulations on your reaching well over 200,000 subscribers. I remember when you were in the 5000 subscriber range. Your channel continues to be interesting. It is great watching how you continue to expand your food production. It is a bit sad to see you putting everything away for winter. Your production of a ton of meat is very impressive. You have not counted any of the Bucks into that total yet. You are still very blessed. God bless America.

Al, I'd like to see a breakdown of what in feed costs you spent to raise the 1090 pounds of meat in feed and bedding? If it's like most small scale operations, it costs less the more you produce per pound. Also a rough estimate on how much time was involved with the morning and afternoon chores?
@samvalentine3206

That would be awesome - a full accounting of feed & labor costs - then divide the cost by the pounds harvested for a cost per pound of protein.

You can put potatoes up by chopping small enough to fit canning jar. Add 1/4 teaspoon canning salt fill to bend and can for 35 min. All you have to do is heat and season as see fit. Saves a lot of pot. And taste great.

Winterizing is tough when you're forced to get it done earlier. I know. Here in Minnesota, winter came on Oct. 20 this year! I was scrambling the night before and during the storm in the morning to get things ready and the garden beds to rest. You got some good work accomplished and I know how good it feels to be just that much closer.

You could call the rooster "Hoss the Farm Boss", just don't tell Moose! It is a sad day when you put things away for winter. It has been warmer here this week, hitting the 70s so we shouldn't see snow for quite a while yet. What an amazing harvest of meat for you! I'm sure y'all will be sharing it with friends & family cause there's no way the 3 of you can eat a pound each of meat every day! God blessed you with such abundance this year.

Al, you may want to add RV trailer scissor jacks to the portable pig mobile. They will let you adjust the level with a 3/4" socket and the impact/screwdriver. It will help with the water flow to the barrel and even the less expensive sets of 4 are rated for 5,000 pounds.

Good morning from the UK. The rest of the asparagus stalks make great additions to soups. Where I live we get a lot of asparagus grown on the farms, and it's also a favourite vegetable for gardeners to grow locally. I hope you get chance to make up a bed next spring. Not sure on the rooster name. I'm sure other subscribers will come up with a great idea or two. Did I spot a building of some kind in the background over in the woods while you were moving the chicken tractors? Is it part of the big project you've got planned I wonder? 🤔 Time will tell, especially as there are other things to do for now. Stay safe, everyone.

Morning Lumnahs.... That's alot of meat... We are still waiting on our pigs, I think at least three weeks yet... Well see but we did get all our meat chickens done and in the freezer. No snow here yet up north they had a few inches. We did get like a ton of rain yesterday close to 6 inches. Was so hoping it went somewhere else but the storms laid up straight across our area for the last 24 hours...can we say Muck city!!! I think you should call Olivia's rooster Copper.... Anyway have a grwst day yall

Gina:. You might want to add lemon pepper to your spice rAck. Great on broccoli and asparagus as well as chicken with lemons and herbs inside the cavity. Also fish of all kinds ...including tuna salad.

Batman would be a good name for your rooster.. Figaro is so cute...lots of work to do on your farm..keeps you busy..not really fond of asparagus, but i will try Ginas idea and roast them next time.👍
