1st time reaction here!! And as crazy as it sounds, I never heard the pop version of Doja Cat's "Say So" prior to watching this video either (I know! But I seriously do not listen to pop!) I'm a metal vocalist and voice coach and I was so curious to see what a pop star would do to create a heavier version of their song. It was great to see Doja Cat do this on the MTV EMAs and I was really pleasantly surprised by this one! Give it a chance - seriously!

Loved this; I love Doja and also metal (neoclassical, dare I mention numetal), prog rock, alt rock, hardcore etc but had no idea she even did this. She's extremely quirky,, allher live performances are theatrical as heck, she's an amazing dancer and on her lives she does the most random shit, impromptu performances, fucks around with her fans. She was always a more alternative girl for a rapper. Now please react to this metal cover of WAP, it is better than I could have ever imagined. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXmugnZjoJibjrc

Hi. I loved your video. My new guilty pleasure has recently been people reacting to this killer moment Doja and this band had. My favorite part being 2:07. Anyway. I know the whole band and their Instagram tags. Please let me know if you want me to send them to you on Instagram. But aside from the girl, I don’t think the 3 guys do anything metal.

@@bwestacado9643 I will paste my reply from another one of your nasty comments under this one too. Stop gatekeeping metal. We need to help the genre spread, because we need to let the mainstream know how good of a genre it is and if you are discouraging the people who spread the genre from engaging in it, you are just contributing to the fall of the genre because if there is nobody there to carry on its legacy, it will slowly die out in future generations. Everyone from every generation and music genre deserve to participate in metal and if you like it just say you are praying for the downfall of the genre and leave the comment section which is been filled with positive and doesn’t need Debby downers like you. Gatekeep something else 🤘 I will also add on if Poppy, a former pop artist, didn’t transform into a metal artist and take a deep interest in metal, there wouldn’t be a lot of poppy fans like me broadening our metal taste and listening to metal artists and supporting this genre.

I've been watching Doja Cat for a while now. Her music videos and voice are getting noticeably better as each song/video is released. I think she writes her own songs which I find very witty and fun. I'm impressed with her ability to reinvent her self through her music and videos and grow. Some artists have amazing voices but their music and videos are so predictable. They never step outside their box. Can't wait to see what she does in the future!

I love it, I love when Miley Cyrus do covers of classic rock/metal bands, I loved this version of Say So, the band really killed it. And I can totally relate to what you've said. Im now in my 30's, but I got into rock and heavy metal by listening to SUM41, which despite being a pop punk band, had a kickass guitar player (dave brownsound baksh) and it actually got me into other more mainstream bands, like Foo Fighters and I plunged into the rabbit hole and started listening to the stuff my dad listened before, from CCR to Iron Maiden, and then I got sucked farther and farther and now I listen to everything, from old classic rock to death metal :D

@@bwestacado9643 Stop gatekeeping metal. @@snakeslife-uroborodjinn790 it's called the ''music BUSINESS" but I'd find it hard to believe a record label would frown upon earning new customers and expanding their financial streams over "views". You probably saw her opinion of how a hit song becomes depressingly monotonous to the artist because the business aspect of the industry will push a hit song relentlessly and make it a stale routine for said artists.

I’ve been saying for a while that I’m seeing an organic shift in popular music towards rock in general. The rap scene has been featuring more guitars and rock/metal elements over the last half of the decade. And melodic metal bands with clean vocals have been expanding their fan bases pretty rapidly over the last few years. Give it a year or so and the market will be primed for a pop-y, accessible rock or metal band to really break through.

I don’t think I’ve heard of this group before. Being a metalhead I certainly prefer pop stars converting to metal or rock than the other way around... I know of some top 100 pop songs just because I’ve heard them on the radio at work or around some family, and I’ve found metal versions that I really like. For example Royals covered by Otep. It is interesting how some of these pop artists that have gone metal don’t sound too far removed from some 70s rock haha. Although they could be more creative with their lyrics. Alice Cooper put some serious thought into his lyrics.
