Dolamo D-11 Vintage Distortion Is An Awesome Rat Clone

I am totally impressed with this pedal. There was a random flash sale on these and they were $12 and I just thought that I’d give it a shot and I was expecting to be let down. I am glad I was wrong. This pedal is awesome.

Great pedal, bargain price, stacks really well with other dirt pedals as well. I only sold it to buy a smaller and very slightly pricier RAT clone, the Sonicake Rude Mouse. They sound absolutely identical.

@@franklingarcia405 It's worth it for its price. I stacked it with a TS clone and got different textures. It's fun to experiment with (I actually tweaked way more than I played haha). By itself it's a bit too fuzzy for my taste but stacking it and backing down the gain you can get plenty of usable sounds. I say you go for it! I had mine for a few months and then traded it.

Anyone watching this video and digging the sound, BUY IT! This video convinced me to get one (18 bucks, couldn't pass it up!) Got it today and have to say it's great! Can't wait to stack it with other pedals

That’s awesome! It’s such great pedal. So I’ve stacked it against a real proco rat (not a lm308 one though) and a clone I made that has an lm308 and to be honest the dolamo was louder and it didn’t have oscillation issues if you cranked the pedal. My only complaint is you can tell it’s cheap. But for the price it’s 100% worth it.

@@googaboogaloo I was gonna mess around with it and stack it with other stuff but decided to go straight into my amp with it and nothing else. Had all knobs set to 12 on a mid cranked clean Marshall channel on my Vypyr 75. Clicked it on and was immediately impressed. Can't say I've ever felt that way with any pedal hahaha. Definitely the best choice I've made with spending money on gear.

@@philcollinshill2951 that’s awesome! I love that feeling when you get a sounds that just makes you want to play. Right now my favorite sounds is my danelectro into my pig nose and my tele into a fuzz I made into my Silvertone 1483. That tone is almost exactly like the song Living Like I wanna by mount Carmel.

I mean... the switch isn't meant to give you like 3 pedals in one. It's going to just have different "flavors" of this pedal. (I think it's supposed to emulate the different RAT pedals throughout the years, thus the "turbo" setting, because there was a Turbo RAT. That's my guess. I own this pedal and regardless of price it's killer. The pricetag is just a bonus no-brainer).

Also ordered this one, together with their fuzz. I have the TC electronic fangs for my meta needs, but that one is way too modern and tight sounding. Was looking for that dirty, old school fuzzy rat-style distortion. This sounds perfect.

This vs the mosky is like night and day. This does slight overdrive to distortion to fuzz. You won’t be disappointed.

I have this, it's awesome but the 3 way switch doesn't do much. Specifically the normal and solo sounds the same just a few difference like the other one has more mid or high and the other one doesn't. Great pedal for it's price.

It’s kind of like comparing apples and oranges. This is based off a rat and the Dolamo fuzz is based on the caline puffer fuzz which is a fuzzface clone. The rat can do fuzz distortion and overdrive, so for versatility sake I’d say the vintage distortion is better. But tone wise they are very different.

The three way switch does nothing that I can hear in this demo. Also, this doesn't sound like a Rat to me. Sounds okay, though.

That’s fair. The switch is super subtle. It’s supposed to switch between diodes but it mostly changes volume. With KZbin’s compression it doesn’t change much. Its better than the mosky and demonfx rats. I still have yet to get a real proco rat though

I have the black distortion and the delay. The black distortion is also very good. The delay is very particular about power units. I’ve heard the yellow overdrive is great also.

I’m not sure I’ve never used it on one. It probably would sound cool. All them witches uses one on their fender Rhodes, but a Rhodes is more like a guitar than a keyboard.

I love his channel. Dolamo and caline are one and the same. Dolamo uses smd micro components and some caline use though hole full size components. Not all calines do this though. Some have the small components.
