@@jububoobaroo67 Thats why I said its no longer BESH, it is useful as it normalizes better than HE but seeing on how HE is broken due to Volumetric, it isn't perfect. HESH needs to be aimed for specific points now, cant just point and delete anymore.

This is fine. The much smaller IS-152s already DELETED ferdinands on hitting the casemate armor. Against fv4005 it should stand NO chance.

I appreciate that Dollar feels bad about multi killing people, and shooting them as they leave the spawn area.. And I like that he apologizes (even though you only hear it if you watch his videos and it's in there). I am assuming you were the USSR player at 11:30. The first kill let you know he was there. The second kill you were a map grid square away from your spawn, charging madly across the open ground, and you had already shot at him.. So not really spawn camping.. I can understand if you were annoyed that the wreck ate your shot (hit boxes can be jank). But if you were "furious" about being taken out a second time by the same player, maybe next time take a deep breath and don't charge across open ground back to the same area to try get the person who just blew you up.. (though some maps give you little to no choice on the open ground thing..). The above is me trying to offer perspective and advice, not trying to have a go at you.

FINALLY. Been nagging on the issue council for ages. Long-story short: HESH was bugged and would only deal a single type of damage. For example: Hits front plate of Tiger and pens? = Spalling only. Hits area it can't pen? = HE effect (barely 61mm, but that's Gaijin """balance"""). Now HESH is dealing *both* Spalling and HE, like it's supposed to... you know: **High Explosive** Squash Head.

The problem with HESH is that most of the times when it hits something it can pen normally (eg. FV4005 hitting Tiger II turret cheek) it doesn't overpressure. So u end up having pretty much bad APHE on a long reload. U have to intentionally hit something that's thicker than 228mm (Raw or effective) to OP the crew through the roof of the tank (eg. FV4005 hitting Tiger II mantlet)

Overpressue mechanic doesnt rely on HESH pen, it rely on explosive pen (standart he). HESH penetration means will be there fragments or no. So you must use it like standart HE shells

@@bratzk my understanding is that if it meets the pen value it behaves like HEAT from the prot analysis I've seen. So if you hit a 'thick' part and fail to pen it can be a oneshot from overpressure, yet a few inches over it's a crappy heat. Smarter people than me might be able to explain why this is realistic but it strikes me as video-game physics. This is why you have things like the first kill in the video where Dollar apparently doesn't even hit the target, but it's close enough the overpressure from the HE explosion does the job.

Interesting fact about this vehicle's gun: It was intended for a Tank Destroyer version of the Conqueror - multiple variants were proposed, one even jointly with German engineers, dubbed the 'jagdconqueror' unofficially. The 183mm does have an AP round. At one point an autoloader was also considered but dropped.

ever since I switched from world of tanks to warthunder, Ive missed the brokenness of hesh in that game I'm glad the shit barn has recieved the much needed buffs and hesh generally is at a point where its useful driving the vickers mk1 or the centurion mk10 I find myself switching to hesh to deal with lighter targets, or using it on the cupolas or roofs of tanks I cant pen when theyre hull down, rather than just being a worse HE substitute

I found my love in HESH in the italian tech tree. Oh, but not from any old tank, but the AUBL and C13! People sleep on these two because their HEAT shells are so damn weak, but their HESH eats Tigers and IS-2s for dinner.

I did notice HESH was performing like BESH last night when I played my old time favorite Chieftain Mk3. Switched to HESH to hit a guy behind a hill and it worked so well I kept it loaded for the rest of the game and got a few more kills

Idk if your gonna see this but if you use the bm truck at top teir u can kill mordern day tanks by either hit em with the mussels and or shorting at a building their close to as it will cause overpressure hope this helps also use 38cm at top teir when ever u have people in ur spawn

I recently realized playing with the fv4005, that the most reliable way to kill other tanks is by shooting in the tracks, the shockwave kills all the crewmates. Interestingly this works with. Absolutely any tank, even the top tier ones
