It is much easier to hold onto your brads with a hemostat. It clamps onto the brad, and you can tap them in easily. They don't get away from you. I love your tutorials. Your electrical practice board really helped me. Thank you.

If you use the pen like thing that comes with the kit the little Brad thingy fits right on the end and you can tap it in it makes it much easier and they don’t fly all around

i have the new tape wire kit from realgood toys. how do you connect the tape tot he electricity. it does not have the cir kit junction splice.

I haven't used their kit, how do they tell you to connect it in the instructions with the kit

I am just getting started on my dollhouse. I jumped right in with the big boy Garfield. It is so awesome. I have been making dolls for a long time now, so I figured it is time for change. I loved your video. I am not ready for that part yet and I will hang onto it because, to tell you the true, that is the one thing I was nervous with. Thanks for the great info.

Your videos were so helpful when i wired my first house. Then i switched to solder connections and foam board didn’t work so good. So i built a box out of MDF so i could practice not just doing the soldering flat but on walls for wall lights. I evolved to now when i do a sconce i lead the wires to the floor so it’s easier to hide wire behind wall paper.

Can the tape be painted over after install?

Yes you can paint over the tape-wire once it is installed and that can go a long way in helping to hide it under some wallpapers.

Please advise why you would use a grommet vs why you would use brads. I am working with a 1/24 laser cut in birch plywood. Which would you use and why?

Grommets are less likely than brads to wiggle loose over time. You have to use grommets on houses made out of MDF because MDF is too hard to push the brads into.

@@timothyhh Good info on the use of grommets on the MDF, which I have with my RGT Victorian Farmhouse kit. I will use only grommets and set the brads aside. Will i need to use the drill bit to create starter holes for each grommet? If so, how deep should a do the drill hole? The full length of the grommet, or ? Appreciate a reply as soon as you can as I am just starting to spot tape in the house but not doing any connections to the main loop yet. Thanks!

If you want to try a better nail polish, I recommend Color Street. They last for about 2 weeks for me. I do allot of yard work and I won't go back to regular nail polish. 😀 love your videos!:)

question, I followed all your videos on this topic, nd am trying to wire my house. I have two extensions off my main strip of wire tape that work, but then when I add a third off the same wire it doesn't work. I cant find any reason its not, the brads are in the right spots, the tape overlaps properly. Any ideas on how to find the problem?

I am working on a Harrison. I removed the Tudor features, added clapboard, and made new windows for the entire house. Because of this, I added foam core to the walls to increase the wall thickness. I am now wondering if that was a good idea because I read that the brads might not be stable in the foam core. This dollhouse was made for my daughter 30+ years ago. I am remodeling it for my active granddaughters, ages 6 and 9. Any suggestions?

I have a Harrison and I would recommend using round wire in it, I really wish I had . The house is so large that unless it is attached to a really firm baseboard it flexes just a bit no matter how careful you are whenever it is moved. I have had to track down wiring issues in that house so many times and I currently have a chunk of the house that won't light. Even when someone bumps into the table mine sits on I sometimes have issues.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. As far as the construction of a dollhouse or roombox the tape wire goes in after all the walls are primed but before the wallpaper is installed. Does that answer your question?
