Linda rules in my book and my heart! The way Linda sings , crystal clear, like a bell ringing. Oh m6 God, that lasy can bring me to tears like no other, puts a lump in my throat and makes me speechless with the emotions she exudes and just makes you feel the hurt, the pain, the sorry and the joy .......all at the same time. She takes you on an emotional thrill ride every time she sings a song. There are singers and then there is Linda, the Sonoran desert rose. Thank you God , for letting your angel Linda exist on your earth.

Love Dolly's guitar playing. Her voice is so angelic and her songwriting so good that it's easy to forget that she's a monster on guitar. According to a different YT comment section, she played the intro to Jolene herself because none of the studio cats could do it. That sounds about right...

First heard of Dolly when Linda championed her in 1975. Ronstadt was becoming a Superstar, Dolly was still primarily a Country artist- super talented but regional in her popularity. Emmylou was also a great talent of modest notice. Linda wore her fame so lightly, so humble about that glorious voice- still she brought us to some great musicians, songwriters and musical styles. Ronstadt was the rarest of songbirds.

Never heard of Dolly Parton until I read her name on the Ronstadt album "Prisoner in Disguise"(1975). Back then Parton was basically a southern country performer and writer. Linda was always our favorite- if she brought attention to an artist we took notice. Parton loved and ran with stardom. Linda found fame a drag - still her voice was glorious. The TRIO recordings with these three are super fine.

I love Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt. In their own right three of the greatest. Together and the magic will happen.

Amazing Dolly can play guitar so well with her long nails. Those 3 were great together.

It cannot be overstated how good a guitar player Ms. Parton is. There are certainly better and more sophisticated guitarists, but for what she does, she could make a living as a session guitarist, and that comes from a professional musician with studio experience. Brava, m' lady!

I wish I could figure out a similar picking pattern for my uke. It's always so much fun figuring out 4 strings instead of 6. I just love the way she plays this.

@@mhart78676 The Challenge with the uke, of course, is that, not only ate there two less strings, but the intervals are not chromatically sequential. Pre-COVID, I'd have said, look for other uke players in your area. Now, you can look for other uke players anywhere! You can connect via Zoom with someone who could show you on-camera pickings they've figured out. Or look for online tutorials or master classes. Good luck, and have fun! Our church is fortunate in having a sizable group of ukists who practice regularly and perform as they can. You're hip to the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, right? Also, I just found Will's Ukulele Lockdown Playalong. Look like fun (can't listen while I'm writing this). Check it out. Cheers!

@@DanieltheTruebadour Yes, and part of the problem is that I don't understand a lot of the theory yet. I found UkePopUp that does ear and interval training along with all the various scales. I'll keep poking around for other groups. Most uke playing groups seem to want to stick to 60's folk and the Beatles and I don't care for either. I'll try Will's Lockdown. Thanks for the idea! Aaron Keim plays Carter scratch on uke so I'm trying that too. I trolled through various covers that pick pretty well, but too many people have their picking hands out of camera range. I'm getting better at picking some country ballads.
