I was seven years old when I watched this performance with my Granny on TV. The sweetest, toughest old Scottish bird who was Dolly Parton’s and Goldie Hawn’s biggest fan! We danced in the living room to it then put on records and listened for hours before she passed out from too much boxed Sherri 🤣. I have such wonderful memories of her that I’ll cherish ‘till the day I die!

People scoffed at singers needing microphones to reach a crowd with their voices when they first came out. Regular plain old microphones made your voice sharper and stronger too. Every generation has its way of doing things. Crying for the past really does nothing but make you miserable. THere is a lot of talent in today's singers; stop looking to the mass media famous folk and start looking at the small singers. The ones with just a few followers but who sound like gold.

Kenny Rogers, as all your friends have told you I guess I must join them in saying rest in peace. I don't know why but this song always did something to me even at 63 years of age. I know my mom has got somebody to talk to now, as this was one of her favorite songs. She was a great country music lover. There are so many others that you can have a concert in heaven with now. Marty Robbins, Conway Twitty, Glen Campbell, and many many more. The real meaning a country music is almost totally gone.
